Adult/High School: Group Classes & Ensembles

Orchestra String Orchestra age: 16 & up Why let the pros have all the fun? Make lasting musical friendships & hone playing skills while enjoying the glorious symphonic sound of great masterworks. This is a three-term course that runs October to June (see calendar on page 35). Prerequisite: at least two years instrumental study & reasonable sight-reading ability; prior ensemble or class experience is desirable. Recorder Recorder Level 1 age: 14 & up Find your Renaissance by learning this timeless instrument in the pleasure & comfort of a small group. Begin with note reading, fingering & simple songs to play. Students bring their own recorder (instructor suggests Aulos, Zenon or Yamaha brand). Both C (soprano, tenor) & F (alto, bass) recorders welcome. New beginners accepted in fall term. After October, players are welcome with equivalent experience & instructor permission. Recorder Level 3 age: 14 & up Enter the next level of the instrument's repertoire. Explore more challenging pieces, play two or more sizes in an ensemble where technique & musicianship will develop. This is a three-term course that runs September to June (term calendar - page 35). Take two or more Neuman classes for $105 per term. Advanced Recorder Ensemble age: 14 & up Sopranos, altos, tenors, bass, & great bass come together as a polished ensemble under the guidance of an instructor. Meet other enthusiasts & refine skills that enable playing as one. This is a three-term course that runs September to June (term calendar - page 35).
