WATCHING OVER PORT JEFFERSON TRAFFIC:

The traffic survey of Brook Rd is complete. The data from the speed trailer showed us that 192 vehicles traveled on Brook Road between July 24th to August 7th. One hundred thirty-nine of those vehicles were at or below the speed limit Fi y-three vehicles were above the speed limit, with the highest speed clocked in at 41 mph. The Average speed was 26.8 mph. Our next traffic survey will be on Scraggy Hill Rd. This survey will also be for a two-week period.
PATROLS:
Bike patrols and foot patrols have commenced in the downtown area with positive feedback from both the public and our officers.
VILLAGE EVENTS:
Recent village events, Port Paws and Port Palooza, were successful, with no major incidents to report.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE:
I a ended the recent Chamber of Commerce meeting. It was very fruitful, with ideas and concerns shared among those in a endance.
STAFF:
Several interviews have been conducted for new hires to the Code Department, showing that individuals are interested in serving the community of Port Jefferson.
