45 URBAN DESIGN PATENTS is a collection of a wide variety of urban design innovations, from the scale of the neighborhood block to street furniture by the students at the School of Design, University of Pennsylvania. The projects in this book are neither depicted as prescriptions for other cities, nor as a commercialization of others’ artistic ideas, but simply as a reference book to inspire others in designing their cities, to encourage them to add to an inexhaustible urban design innovation list, and to harness their individual creativity to add value to our public realm.
