Children Services strives to create new and exciting programs for children in the early years to meet the needs of our community. We welcome your input and love to hear your ideas and comments. If a program interests you, but the schedule and time doesn’t fit, we may be able to create a new program for you. Spend some quality time with friends in the community at Gym-A-Zoo. Climbing equipment, plasma cars, sports play or imaginations soar with 100 rubber zoo ducks.

TIME FOR GYM (1-6yrs)

Run, Jump, Giggle, and Play! This program offers families the opportunity to have a lot of fun with a free play atmosphere! Stations will be set up for your use including soccer, floor hockey and other active stations, a small ball pit, and fun ride on toys. We end play time off with running races, songs and parachute play.

PARENT PARTICIPATION

Gymbalaya (2-3yrs)

Tumble, jump, balance and play. The focus will be on moving to music, socialization through play, parachute games and a fun introduction to our gymnastics program.

Mother Goose (0-5yrs)

Mother Goose is a program for parents and their children ages 0 to 5. This program is offered in partnership with Westcoast Family Resource Society. Children and parents will learn songs, rhymes and stories they can enjoy for many months to come. Registration required.

Soccer Tots and Parents (2-6yrs)

Run, play, kick and have fun with a soccer ball and each other. A staff person will introduce games and activities that you could play with your child. This is a fun parent participation program for children 2 years and up.

Hot Shots (3-5yrs) Let’s run, throw and jump so we can take part in sports like soccer, basketball, baseball and more. This program includes fundamental movement skills that help children develop physical literacy and an introduction to the wonderful world of sports.

DANCE TOTS - HYDE CREEK (2-8yrs)

While enjoying movement your child will learn the fundamentals of dance and explore creativity and imagination in a fun and educational environment.

Program progressions: Tiny Tot Dance (2-3 yrs), Levels 1(3-4yrs), & 2(4-6yrs). The next step is Let’s Dance Club Junior (5-7yrs) and Intermediate (7-10yrs).

Transition Programs Ready Set Go (2.5-4yrs)

This program will assist you and your preschooler in becoming comfortable with your child staying on their own in a classroom setting. Parents must remain in the building. We encourage honest communication when leaving your child on their own. Free play and an introduction to circle time included.
