SUMMARY
The present investigation is carried out to evaluate, if the intervention of the State with a public policy for peace is positive, in a country where there is internal conflict, and if the number of homicides decreases. This study was developed with the use of a qualitative and statistical method, based on the theoretical framework of social literature (Coleman, 1990) and the postulates of conflict theory (Johan Galtung, Editor, 1984.).
