Ion I. Agârbiceanu (1907 Invention: the laser gas

Ion I. Agârbiceanu, specialist in atomic physics, spectroscopy, projected the first laser gas from Romania (1961). Helium-neon laser ends up being patented and appreciated by physicists around the world.

Inventor:Traian Vuia (1872-1950) Invention: the first airplane

Vuia I, automobile airplane On 18 March , 1906, near Paris, Traian Vuia, accelerated this prototype over a distance of 50 meters before it reached a height of almost one meter over a distance of 12 metres.

He built different mechanisms and models of gliders : Vlaicu Vlaicu I and II with which he flew. He won numerous awards and international recognition. On 13 September 1913 during an attempt to cross the Carpathians with his Vlaicu II plane, it crashed near Campina.

In 1921, Professor Nicolae Paulescu announced the discovery of Pancreine, as he called it, which causes low blood sugar. He found that the level of sugar in the body is determined by insulin, a hormone secreted by the pancreas.

Inventor: Ion Cantacuzino (1863-1934) Invention: cholera vaccine

 I During its work, Cantacuzino invented cholera vaccine (also known as Cantacuzino method), and during World War I he contributed to combat a major outbreak of typhus.
