Since our founding in 1991, Poole Fire Protection has provided public and private clients all over the world with innovative solutions to complex fire and life safety challenges. Our core team consists of licensed fire protection engineers and National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) certified engineering technicians. PUBLIC & PRIVATE SECTORS Different facility types can present unique requirements and challenges when it comes to fire protection and life safety systems. We enjoy the challenge of applying the codes to all segments of the built environment. Renovation of Macdonough Hall Building 102, at the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) – Annapolis, MD Performed all life safety and US fire code compliance actions per UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA 101. The building is located on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The design was performed to Secretary of the Interior standards for Historic Preservation; and consultation with the Maryland State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO). The facility design is registered with USGBC as LEED Certified.
Al Udeid Air Base – Doha, Qatar Provided life safety code analysis, third party peer review of the design documents, and construction administration services for the 8-building construction project. Fire protection systems included high expansion foam, wet pipe sprinkler, clean agent, foam releasing, fire pump/water storage tank and fire alarm/mass notification system.
Renovation of Colmery O’Neil VA Medical Center Building 6 – Topeka, KS Provided fire protection engineering and code consulting services per the Department of Veterans Affairs Fire Protection Design Manual for the renovation of A and B wings of Building 6. The area of renovation includes approximately 24,000 SF of exam, sleeping, office, and computer rooms among other occupancy types found in traditional health care facilities.
