WEST WALES YOUTH CUP FINAL
SUNDAY 28TH APRIL 2024 / KICK OFF 2:00PM
@ THE RECREATION GROUND, AMMANFORD AFC
RHOS FC
~ V ~
Today’s match is being played in support of the Jac Lewis Foundation
The Ammanford community was rocked by the sudden death of Jac and through that grief came a determination on to try and prevent as much as possible losing another member of the community through suicide. The community drive and passion allowed the foundation to become a reality.
Set up to provide free easy access to professional counselling at the heart of the community for any age and any issue. Local builders and businesses came together to build the ‘Wellbeing Centre’ which is located on Ammanford Football Pitch with no cost to the Foundation. It was so humbling to see so many give up their time to ensure that the dream of the foundation on and the ability to help others was achieved.
The drive and commitment of the local Ammanford community supported by Ammanford Football Club continues to be outstanding and has enabled the Foundation to grow into a service that is now providing counselling and support throughout Wales to children and adults that would otherwise be unable to access counselling and support.

CLASE SOCIAL FC
Clase Social FC was founded in 2000 as a Sunday league team, which lasted 18 seasons and was very successful, winning many honours along the way until the Sunday league disbanded. They switched over to the Saturday League in 2019 and currently have 3 Senior sides, they added a Junior section in 2022 and a youth team in 2023 for the first time. It is proving to be very successful ~ reaching the Cup Final and, as the League currently stands, sit second with 4 matches to go.
Clase Social FC Youth currently play at Cwmbwrla Park and are managed by Lee Jones and James Lewis. With Kyle Campbell already scoring 25 goals this season, Clase have certainly set the league alight!
RHOS FC
Rhos Football Club have been a family club for generations, running minis, junior and seniors for both girls and boys. Rhos is a small village with the football club at its heart. No matter how small the village, Rhos show what can be achieved !
In the history of the club they’ve only ever had 2 youth teams, this being the second. This team is a young group with 90% of the squad being on their first year college. They even have several players in their last year of school.
They’ve defied the odds this season with their own expectation being that this year would be purely experience for them. They’ve gone way beyond that and taken the season by the scruff of the neck and now find themselves in the cup final!
For both teams, whichever way this year’s final goes, there will be a new name on the trophy this year ~ a ninth different winner in 10 years of competition!

West Wales Youth League Champions 2022-23
With a change of format for the 2022-23 season, having come top of Group B in the preliminary stages, the Greens followed this up by coming top of the League Championship Group beating Ynysygerwn 2-1 in the final match at Stafford Common.
Overall the Greens only lost 2 league matches all season.
West Wales Youth Plate Winners 2022-23
In our Plate Competition, Baglan BGC won 5 out of 5 in the Plate Group to show themselves to be worthy winners of the competition.
They finished off with a 4-1 win at Cwm Wanderers to successfully round off their second season in the West Wales Youth League.
West Wales Youth Cup Final 2022-23
Last year’s final was contested between Dunvant & Three Crosses Greens and Dunvant & Three Crosses Yellows. On paper, some may have thought that the Greens would win, but the Yellows proved they had the fight and the resolve to take it all the way to extra time and then penalties.
Daniel O’Brien scored first for the Greens on 12 minutes before Jamil Mroue equalised only 4 minutes later.
With Greens taking the lead through a goal from Ben Davies early in the second half things looked to be going the Greens’ way before Leese Kim equalised with 15 minutes to go.
Extra time did not separate the teams leading the final to be decided on penalty kicks which the Yellows won 4-2 after the Greens
