WELCOME ABOARD!

Welcome to Limassol Marina, a place where community and care of our natural blue treasure go hand in hand. As we navigate our 11th year, we continue to build on the efforts that have evolved this world-class yachting hub into a premier lifestyle destination, bringing all the benefits of a Blue Space to our residents, guests and team.
Since its inception in 2014, the vision for the Marina was always to merge luxury with environmental responsibility. And our approach to sustainability is holistic, integrated across our operations – from residences and berths, to recreational and health offerings. Initiatives over the years have ranged from transitioning to electric equipment for maintenance, to reduce our dependence on petrol and diesel, to installing solar panels providing sustainable electricity throughout the Marina. This ethos of innovative stewardship flows into the wellbeing cultivated and maintained here on a daily basis. It is also reflected in accolades such as becoming the island’s first Blue Flag Marina – and the only one to hold the 5 Gold Anchor Platinum Award – as well as earning the Clean Marina accreditation and receiving the Smart and Sustainable Marina Award.
Today, as we progress into our second decade, our Blue Living concept, blending health and leisure by the sea, aims to enhance your experience while honouring our waters. Our wish is for everyone to benefit from the coastal haven that is our home. To experience how the sea nourishes and uplifts body and spirit, ensuring our community, at the heart of Limassol, is truly a Blue Health destination.
We are grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey, and invite you to join us as we continue to enhance this natural haven, a place that welcomes all, to write a sustainable and joyful next chapter of Limassol Marina.

CELEBRATING A DECADE

NEW UNIFORMS –NEW BRAND
In line with Limassol Marina’s new brand identity, our team is now proudly showcasing a fresh look. Combining a modern style with functionality, the designs incorporate our new logo.
Always ready to welcome visitors, the team continues to deliver the same exceptional service, now with a renewed sense of vitality that embodies the essence of Living on the Sea.
Limassol Marina recently celebrated a decade of success, with 2024 marking 10 years of commercial growth and unforgettable experiences on the sea.
To commemorate this milestone, a series of exciting promotions, exclusive discounts and special events were launched. The Marina’s restaurants, cafés, bars and boutiques participated, with special discounts, 10-year-inspired offers and exclusive menu options, designed to thank the community for its continued support. A line-up of six celebratory events was arranged, highlighting the benefits of life on the sea.
In line with the festivities, the Marina’s new brand identity was unveiled, reflecting its evolution from superyacht hub to full-fledged lifestyle destination, further elevating the experience of living and playing on the sea.
CYPRUS SETS SAIL FOR GROWTH
The second Limassol Boat Show Conference was held in May 2024 at Limassol Marina, successfully bringing together industry professionals to discuss the need for a comprehensive EU policy exclusively for yachts.
The 2025 edition – held within the framework of the Limassol Boat Show 2025 – is expected to continue fostering a meaningful conversation between stakeholders, policymakers and industry leaders, to further strengthen Cyprus’ position as a leading yachting destination in the Mediterranean.

SHOWCASING THE INDUSTRY
Over May 22-25, 2025, Limassol Marina hosted the 9th Limassol Boat Show, building on the incredible success of the 2024 edition, with the exhibition having become the premier international yachting event in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
Last year, a record 35,000-plus visitors and over 120 exhibitors attended the Boat Show from across the globe. And the event has continued to grow, with the 2025 edition featuring an action-packed four days of events, activities and nautical displays. Visitors had the chance to explore the latest in yachting, water sports and marine innovations, alongside live demonstrations and interactive activities.
With a well-earned reputation for boosting local industry and highlighting Cyprus’ prominent position on the international yachting map, the Limassol Boat Show offers visitors a unique platform through which to network with key industry leaders, explore new technologies and celebrate the seafaring lifestyle.
SWIMMING FOR HOPE
In December 2024, the Limassol Marina community gathered to support Pavlos Papadopoulos, who completed a 25-kilometre coastal swim in honour of his late mother and in aid of PASYKAF – the Pancyprian Association of Cancer Patients and Friends.
Setting off from the Marina slipway, Pavlos swam for nearly eight hours, raising almost €10,000 to support vital care services for cancer patients and their families. The atmosphere was filled with emotion as onlookers lined the promenade to cheer him on. Friends, family, and supporters later joined a

reception hosted by Sanctum Spa & Fitness, marking the achievement with healthy refreshments and heartfelt tributes.
Pavlos’ challenge embodied strength, purpose, and community spirit—core values that reflect the Marina’s Blue Health identity. His swim served not only as a powerful tribute but also as a reminder of the healing impact of water, action, and shared support.

Their affordable power boats are less polluting, offering families greater comfort and space. “These family cruisers are the most popular models in the Beneteau range,” adds Easy. “They don’t go the fastest, but they have more volume, more spacious sitting and living spaces outside, with bigger table and chairs, and excellent entertainment facilities, making them the ideal choice for those looking to enjoy a day out on the sea.”
This new venture into power boats represents a significant expansion for Easy Sails, as they continue to cater to the evolving needs of seafarers who prioritise sustainability alongside luxury and comfort.

Shaping the future

Keenly aware that Cyprus’ crown jewel is its Mediterranean waters, the decision to embed cutting-edge green innovation into the construction of Limassol Marina was an essential dimension of its development, and the reason the superyacht hub and lifestyle destination was able to achieve an impressive environmental benchmark.

WOVEN INTO THE DNA OF THE MARINA’S SUCCESS STORY IS PROTECTING AND PRESERVING ITS PRECIOUS ‘BLUE SPACE’. LEADING BY EXAMPLE, IT SETS THE BAR HIGH WITH INNOVATIVE SUSTAINABILITY PRACTICES, AND A DEEP COMMITMENT TO THE ‘BLUE HEALTH’ OF BOTH ITS COMMUNITY AND THE LIMASSOL COASTLINE.
GUARDIANS OF THE BLUE
With the maritime sector transitioning to sustainable sailing practices over recent years, marinas, as gatekeepers of the sea, are playing a major role in these efforts. Which is why, alongside the luxury and enchantment of its sun-kissed waters, Limassol Marina’s true magic extends beyond aesthetics. In fact, a key pillar in its success story is the pioneering sustainability initiatives and rigorous standards it upholds. These were woven into its planning and construction from day one, to maintain a pristine environment for generations to come, while fostering a ‘Blue Health’ sanctuary for its current guests, visitors and sailing community.

A daily commitment to a cleaner sea – Limassol Marina’s team in action during the Marina Sweep. This hands-on effort is backed by smart tech, clean-up events, and ongoing water-quality checks to protect and preserve the coastline.

ENVISIONING A ‘BLUE SPACE’
Reflecting on how it all began, Assistant Marina Manager Vasilis Kareklas outlines the sustainability journey of Limassol Marina’s premier sailing destination. Given that the coastline is Cyprus’ crown jewel, it needs to be protected and maintained by all in the marina industry, he explains. This was the reason that, while the Marina was still at the planning stages, harnessing cutting-edge green innovation was a non-negotiable dimension of the project. “This allowed us to set an example and establish ourselves as a market leader in the Mediterranean,” he says. And with the launch of the Marina in 2014, the benchmark for environmental responsibility was set for others to follow.
Sustainability is also inextricably entwined with the services Limassol Marina provides to all – be they mariners or crew, residents or visitors – and an essential component of its long-term success. “We have a reputation as a world-class destination,” says Vasilis, “and we have a duty to our community to offer world-class services. To do that, we must ensure we have created an environmentally healthy and efficient operation, while upholding our responsibility to protect our most precious asset: the marine ecosystem that allows us to do what we do.”
Furthermore, Vasilis adds that the Marina’s vision for a sustainable future extends beyond its own immediate environmental footprint. “We do our best to lead by example, looking at our impact and seeking opportunities to keep improving, keep innovating and investing, so that we can set the standard that everyone will benefit from.”
SUSTAINABLE BY DESIGN
Today, the fact that sustainability had been baked into its DNA, gives the Marina the advantage in meeting its eco-commitments, and determines the course going forward. “Unlike many marinas that are retrofitted, we were able to select the infrastructure and technology that we wanted, right from the start,” explains Vasilis. For Limassol Marina, this meant opting for sustainable systems such as, for example, floating pontoons. These use a mooring system called Seaflex, which keeps them secure without the need for driving piles into the seabed, thereby avoiding disturbance to the natural environment. Related measures include the Marina’s use of shore-power systems to reduce vessels’ emissions and fuel consumption and allow for a no-generator policy; the in-berth sewage collection systems for larger berths; and the filtration systems that were fitted into higher-risk areas, such as fuel

stations and the boatyard and washdown areas. Meanwhile, one of the most impressive examples of sustainable design is the Marina’s Castle Residences. As the Marina’s final homes to be completed, the complex utilises the fully-renewable resource of geothermal energy. “It is a particular source of pride,” says Technical & Property Manager Andreas Moyseos, “as it’s only one of a handful of buildings in Cyprus to use this energy source. We harvest heat from the seabed and use it for heating and cooling. Not only is this a safe and sustainable energy source, but it also allows for the sleek design of the Castle Residences – not a solar panel or external VRV pump in sight.”
JOINT EFFORTS AND ACCOLADES
And the desire to care for the superyacht hub’s azure asset is no less than contagious. When it comes to sustainability efforts, everyone who frequents Limassol Marina in any capacity is enthusiastically on board. “It’s a common mindset,” says Vasilis, “because people feel that having a cleaner, healthier environment really does improve their quality of life. So, everyone is happy to do their part and be involved.” This is particularly apparent in the environmental awareness events Limassol Marina hosts every year, which include SUP clean-up days that always have high turnouts from the

Marina community, as well as the greater public.
A quick glance confirms that Limassol Marina’s environmental stewardship is apparent in all aspects of its footprint. From the conveniently-placed separate bins for recycling in every public area, to its LED lighting, fitted with photocell sensors, to the waste management in its commercial zones that also includes specialised cooking-oil disposal for all restaurants. “If something can be done in a more environmentally-friendly way, we do it,” Andreas explains, referencing the range of the Marina’s eco-conscious strategies. “We are in the process of going paperless. We use organic fertilisers and recycled water to maintain our green areas. Our gardening equipment is battery-powered where possible. Our buggies and scooters are electric. We offer facilities for people to opt in, and they do. Everyone is all in.”
As for managing environmental practices, it’s a key part of Limassol Marina’s daily operations, to ensure nothing is overlooked when it comes to protecting the coast. “Our team does a daily Marina Sweep,” says Vasilis, “which means they monitor the waterways to collect any debris that comes in on the currents. They check for evidence of problems such as leaks or any illegal activities. They pull any pollution that floats in, out of the water, with

the help of two, automatic pollution-collection machines that are fitted in two public areas.”
Such efforts have not gone unnoticed at the international level. Over the years, Limassol Marina has earned several awards and accreditations. A Blue Flag Marina since 2015 – the first in Cyprus to receive the prestigious accolade – it has also been accredited as an International Clean Marina and a 5 Gold Anchor Platinum-certified Marina by the Yacht Harbour Association. Additionally, the Marina has received many ISO certifications, in particular ISO 14001 for its environmental management and practices, implementing rigorous guidelines for pollution protection, clean waters and safety of marine life, while responsibly managing waste. Today, it is in the process of receiving ISO 50001 for energy consumption and efficiency, adds Vasilis. “We are proud to be a part of these programmes, and it allows us to keep innovating, keep looking forward, and keep improving.”
COMMITTED TO ‘BLUE HEALTH’
The Marina’s desire to maintain a healthy environment applies to the entire length of the Limassol coastline. “We want everyone to be aware and actively involved in what we are doing, not just within the Marina, but
across the city and the island,” Vasilis says. This means working closely with other marinas, local authorities, and the wider community, making recommendations and sharing experiences. “We’ve hosted studies and research projects, worked with universities, and participated in forums to help educate people, but also improve our own activities.” Most recently, the Marina contributed to a pollution prevention and monitoring scheme run by the Limassol Blue Forum, using drones and artificial intelligence to identify and clean up any pollution along the coast.
Looking ahead, as it navigates its next chapter, sustainability and a better tomorrow continue to be high on Limassol Marina’s agenda, with its sights set on making ‘Blue Health’ a reality for all. As a city-centre yachting and lifestyle destination in a coastal town, the aim is to encourage people to get out and experience all the benefits of living on or near the water, which also means inspiring and empowering the Marina’s community to offer back and care for its shared environment, says Vasilis. “The sea offers us so many benefits – to our health, the economy and to future generations – and we need to preserve it and allow it to flourish.”

GREEN LIVING BLUE VIEWS
FEW MARINAS IN THE WORLD OFFER YOU THE CHANCE TO LIVE IN LUXURY ON THE SEA. FEWER STILL DO SO KEEPING SUSTAINABILITY TOP OF MIND. YET THIS IS PRECISELY WHAT YOU ENJOY, THE MOMENT YOU CALL THIS PRIVILEGED DESTINATION, AT THE HEART OF THE ISLAND’S COASTAL CAPITAL, HOME.

With select villas and Castle Residences still available, the opportunity remains to own your place in a residential setting like no other in Cyprus—or the wider Mediterranean region.
As it enters its second decade, Limassol Marina continues to lead the way in sustainable waterfront living. A 5 Gold Anchor Platinum Marina and the island’s first superyacht marina, it has become a benchmark for eco-conscious development in the region. From low-impact infrastructure to long-term environmental resilience, every decision made—during planning, construction, and now, operation—has been rooted in care for both resident and coastline.
“We were determined to implement sustainable technologies from the beginning,” says Andreas Moyseos, Technical & Property Manager. “As a marina, it’s essential to minimise our carbon footprint while maintaining the highest standards of comfort and efficiency.”
BUILT-IN SUSTAINABILITY
The Marina’s Castle Residences stand as a case in point. Dramatically positioned on the sea within the Marina’s inner basin, these 61 private homes are among the first luxury apartments in Cyprus to integrate an open-loop decentralised geothermal system—a seamless solution for heating, cooling and domestic hot water.
Working in harmony with the sea’s natural rhythm, the system draws water from beneath the seabed, trans-
ferring its stable thermal energy into each home via individual heat pumps. In summer, indoor heat is extracted and released into the sea. In winter, warmth is drawn in and distributed indoors. The process is efficient, silent, and clean—reducing energy consumption by up to 70 percent compared to traditional systems, with no visible panels or bulky equipment in sight.
“The result,” Andreas explains, “is a development that feels naturally cool in summer, warm in winter, and delivers all the benefits of cutting-edge sustainability, without compromising on comfort or aesthetic.”
TIMELESS DESIGN, PREMIUM SERVICE
While sustainability underpins the Castle Residences, their appeal extends well beyond engineering. Designed by masterplanner Xavier Bohl, their architecture reflects the local character of Limassol—combining medieval accents and Mediterranean vernacular in a way that blends seamlessly with the old town’s silhouette. These are homes built to belong, not to impose.
Inside, they offer a fully-serviced lifestyle few locations can match. From 24-hour reception and multilingual concierge support to professional cleaning, property management, and rental services, every detail is designed to make living here as effortless as possible.

At the heart of the Marina’s most forward-thinking residences, Andreas Moyseos, Technical & Property Manager, oversees systems that quietly shape a more sustainable way to live by the sea.
And then come the real advantages. These residences are like nothing else in Cyprus—or the wider Mediterranean region. They offer secure, fully-serviced living environments with wellness-oriented amenities, private sea access, and a berth directly beneath your home for your yacht, boat, or jet ski.
Residents enjoy a stunning communal pool overlooking the open sea, a fully-equipped gym, exceptional dining, fitness facilities, and exclusive community events—all tailored for a holistic, modern lifestyle.
COSMOPOLITAN LIVING AND COMMUNITY
Yet for all its privacy and calm, Limassol Marina also connects directly to the vibrant energy of the city. Just steps from the residences lies a cosmopolitan promenade of fine dining, designer shopping, and cultural venues. Residents can choose solitude or immersion as the mood takes them—waking up to the sound of silence, or walking into the heart of the city for coffee or cocktails.
This duality is what makes Limassol Marina truly unique. It’s serenity and escape from daily stress; it’s mindfulness and mental wellbeing with the option of connection. Here, privacy and community co-exist beautifully.

Living at Limassol Marina means becoming part of a place where sustainability, service and lifestyle come together in a perfect balance. It’s not just about enjoying the view—it’s about embracing a life that values both nature and innovation, privacy and connection.
With only a handful of residences still available, the Castle Residences are among the final jewels of the Mediterranean. Their unique position, built quite literally on the water, coupled with world-class facilities and future-ready design, make them one of the most coveted addresses on the island.

LIFE BEYOND THE DECK

AFTER WEEKS AT SEA, LIMASSOL MARINA OFFERS SUPERYACHT CREWS MORE THAN A SAFE BERTH. IT PROVIDES A SPACE DESIGNED TO RESTORE BALANCE— BETWEEN WORK AND WELLBEING, SOLITUDE AND SOCIAL LIFE, SEA AND SHORE. HERE, TIME ON LAND BECOMES A VITAL PART OF THE JOURNEY, NOT JUST A PAUSE IN BETWEEN.

WWhether hiking, diving, or discovering a remote village, Cyprus delivers experiences that go well beyond the sea.
ith world-class facilities, a curated calendar of crew events, and access to both coastline and countryside, the environment of Limassol Marina supports the rhythm of maritime life. But it’s the sense of community—and a shared love for the sea—that keeps crew returning to these shores. As Assistant Marina Manager Vasilis Kareklas notes, “Limassol Marina is a second home to many, particularly the crew members from around the world, with whom we have built relationships. They return time and time again for our customer service, our security, and, most importantly, for the community we provide.”
BLUE HEALTH IN ACTION
Life aboard a vessel demands stamina, adaptability and routine. Time ashore should replenish. At Limassol Marina, the sea remains central—not as a workplace, but as a source of renewal. From early swims to quiet sunsets, Blue Health lives here in real terms.Whether over coffee by the water or on a kiteboard at full speed, crew reconnect with the elemental energy of the sea. Its benefits—mental clarity, lowered stress, improved sleep—are embedded in the experience. The Marina’s Blue Flag credentials, eco-initiatives and sustainability focus deepen that connection, linking environmental care with personal wellbeing.
COMMUNITY PULSE
Life on board can be isolating. Limassol Marina recognises this, shaping a lifestyle that brings crew together through connection, culture and celebration. Community is not a concept here—it’s a practice. Each season opens with the annual Pre-Season Crew Party, a tradition that marks more than the start of summer. It sets the tone for a social calendar built around camaraderie. From Carnival to St Patrick’s Day and informal gatherings, events are designed to foster belonging, and ease the transition from sea to shore. Beyond parties, the Marina curates experiences that deepen a sense of place. Guided wine tastings, excursions to mountain villages, buggy adventures and coastal hikes reveal Cyprus beyond the deck. These activities create space not only for leisure, but for shared memories—a vital counterbalance to the intensity of life at sea. Workshops and networking sessions add purpose, while friendly competitions—clay shooting, paintball, even archery inject fun into free time. For new arrivals and returning crews alike, these offerings ensure that time spent at Limassol Marina feels intentional, not incidental.
RECHARGE AND REBUILD
The demands of crewing—long hours, limited space, high focus—can take a toll on both body and mind.

Minutes from the Marina, the Troodos mountains offer a complete contrast—cool air, forest trails and alpine views.

For many, stepping onto dry land is the first real opportunity to reset. At Limassol Marina, that reset is supported in every direction. Sanctum Spa & Fitness offers crew members access to expert therapists, personal trainers, and tailored programmes. Treatments are restorative, not indulgent—from deep-tissue massage to targeted recovery sessions. Inside the gym, customised fitness plans help rebuild strength and maintain form, while yoga and movement classes offer space for mental clarity.
Outdoors, Cyprus’ geography does the rest. Crew are never far from water sports—kitesurfing, diving, waterskiing—or from the stillness of nature. The island’s warm climate and short distances allow for seamless transitions between sea and summit. In a single day, it’s possible to ski in the Troodos mountains and swim at the beach. Mountain biking, trail running, snowboarding, or simply walking in nature, all provide a change in pace and perspective. Wellness here is not a trend—it’s embedded in the land, the light, and the Marina’s wider vision of life at sea level.
EXPLORE AND DISCOVER
For crew arriving at Limassol Marina, the surrounding region offers more than a backdrop—it’s a landscape to experience. With ancient ruins a short drive
away, hidden coves along the coast, and protected forest trails in the hills, Cyprus reveals itself in layers. Guided excursions make the most of every layover. Visits to agrotourism villages introduce the island’s quieter rhythms, while diving trips unlock underwater worlds—historic wrecks and reefs ranked among the Mediterranean’s best. These moments expand time ashore into something meaningful. They also remind crew of the privilege of their journey—not just to work at sea, but to live through it.
For those in search of contrast, the city of Limassol is just steps from the Marina. Its art galleries, live music venues, and independent cafés provide a different kind of energy—one that’s youthful, creative and distinctly Cypriot. It’s this balance between escape and engagement that makes the Marina experience so complete. Limassol Marina is not just a place to drop anchor. For the crew that arrive in its waters, it is a living space—a playground, a sanctuary, a reset. Whether connecting with others, reconnecting with the sea, or simply finding time to breathe, each visit offers something vital.
And when it’s time to raise the anchor again, the Blue Space remains. Not only in the waters left behind— but in the renewed energy carried forward.

As the founder of Easy Sails and a keen sailor since childhood, he and his family are lifelong ambassadors for the sea. But the recent arrival of a new generation of Swissa sailors has further emphasised these values, catalysing a series of initiatives aimed at inspiring each of us to contribute to “saving the planet”.
STEAM LESS, SAIL MORE
At the heart of such efforts is the new ‘Steam Less, Sail More’ campaign, which promotes sailing as an eco-friendlier alternative, aiming to “inspire people to use less motorised boats with engines, and sail instead”. As Easy explains: “Steam
refers to the motor boats that use diesel, which is very polluting. When you sail, you don’t pollute the sea in any way. So, sailing is sustainability.” As sailors, the Swissas already do a lot for the planet individually. And this belief – that every individual can make a difference and should contribute to the protection and preservation of our environment – is central to the campaign. “Only we, the people, can make the change. Each one has to do something to save the planet,” says Easy. “Even something small. Through this campaign, we want to inspire people to take action.”
FROM OLD TO NEW
Founded in 1983, Easy Sails has evolved into a renowned name on the maritime scene. But in the early years, its reputation was cemented as expert
Forging the future: Easy Swissa (right) and Ib Kunøe unite to launch the fully-electric 2EZ.

sail-makers. Upholding that legacy today, the company has partnered with North Sails – a global leader in sailmaking – to craft sails from 100-percent recycled materials.“The sails are recycled yarns from old sails, woven together to make new ones,” Easy explains. “It takes a lot of effort, but we are doing it so that people talk about recycled material as a possibility.” In a symbolic milestone that further exemplifies the company’s commitments, the first of these sustainable sails will grace a new boat currently being built by Easy Sails in collaboration with pioneering Danish shipyard X-Yachts.
POWERED BY NATURE
2EZ – as the new vessel is cleverly named – will be fully electric, powered solely by renewable energy, and constructed almost entirely from recycled materials. Launched at this year’s Dusseldorf boat show and set to sail in June 2025, 2EZ is poised to establish a new standard in the maritime industry, aiming to raise awareness and inspire a broader adoption of sustainable practices. “She is built to sail around the world with energy that is actually available around us – the sun and the wind and nothing else,” says
Easy, “We are building this boat as a statement of our willingness to invest in the future, as our personal example of contributing to the planet.”
RECYCLE AND REPURPOSE
Recognising the broader impact of their sustainability efforts, Easy Sails is also launching a campaign encouraging others to recycle their used sails. The initiative will see the company purchase old sails that would otherwise be discarded. Utilising their expertise, they will then repurpose these materials into new, functional, fully-recycled sails, preventing them from ending up in landfills and reducing further environmental degradation. Closing the loop in maritime manufacturing, the campaign challenges the industry to rethink how maritime materials are used. As Easy explains: “We are raising awareness about recycling in general. We are willing to spend more to build a boat and make sails that cost more and are less polluting.”
LEADING BY EXAMPLE
Practising what they preach, Easy and his wife recently purchased a boat for their own pleasure. Howev-

er, instead of buying new, they opted for an old boat from 1978, which they are meticulously renovating, with modern technology and sustainable features integrated throughout.
“We did it this way to inspire others that this is an option,” explains Easy, who has been documenting the renovation of 2EZ as a story across his wide-reaching social platforms. This narrative showcases the potential for sustainable innovation, steering the conversation towards more environmentally-responsible practices across the boating industry.
Ultimately, weaving personal values together with a strong corporate ethos, Easy Sails leads by example, promoting sustainability within maritime operations, as well as on an individual level. “This is our personal contribution as a company, as people who love nature and the sea,” Easy explains, “to inspire and set an example through our actions.”

A legacy of the sea: Easy Swissa shares the helm with his grandson –the next generation steering towards a cleaner, greener future.

BEYOND THE HORIZON

YACHTING HAS LONG BEEN SOMEWHAT OF A TRADITIONAL SECTOR. HOWEVER, ACCORDING TO POWERHOUSE YACHTING SERVICES COMPANY SEANESTHISIS, A NEW DEMOGRAPHIC IS NOW ENTERING THE MARKET, ROCKING THE BOAT WITH THEIR FRESH PERSPECTIVES, VALUES AND DEMANDS.

Julie Chitaeva (left) and Emily Manoli, the visionary cofounders behind Seanesthisis, are redefining the yachting experience for a new generation—where freedom, purpose and personalised luxury take the helm.

“We’re seeing a noticeable shift toward a younger, more diverse, sustainability and tech-minded group of owners,” explains Seanesthisis’ co-founder, Julie Chitaeva. “They are global citizens who care deeply about design, innovation and purpose. For them, a yacht isn’t just about luxury – it’s about freedom, adventure and meaningful experiences.”
SHAPING YACHTING TODAY
Breaking onto the scene two years ago, but with a lifetime of collective shipping and yachting experience, Seanesthisis is well-placed to cater to this emerging audience. Co-founded by Julie and Emily Manoli, following a chance encounter on a charter yacht holiday in the Ionian islands, the company resonates with this new wave of customers. “We’re adventurous by nature, and we understand the value of creating something that feels personal and purpose-driven,” says Julie. With a fresh, forward-thinking mindset, Seanesthisis keeps pace with this changing demographic through a blend of insight and intention. Julie and Emily stay connected to the industry, working closely with major shipyards and a wide global network of suppliers, brokers and service providers, to guide clients with the most up-todate insights, best opportunities and a strong sense of what’s possible. “To-
day’s yachting is about creating your own version of luxury,” Emily explains. “Our clients are often looking for more than just a beautiful vessel – they want it to reflect their lifestyle, whether that means remote working spaces, wellness elements, or long-range capability for real exploration.”
CHARTING A COURSE
In line with this new market player, a similar shift is happening in the charter space, with today’s clients seeking out experiences that go far beyond traditional itineraries. “Before, clients wanted standard charters,” Julie says. “Now we are seeing growing interest in explorer vessels capable of reaching remote, untouched destinations like Antarctica, the Galápagos or the Norwegian fjords.” Navigating this expanding world of possibilities requires deep knowledge and trusted connections. Seanesthisis handles every detail, from logistics to creative touches, crafting bespoke experience-led charters – from wellness-focused retreats to luxury treasure hunts and educational family explorations. “It’s all about personalisation and purpose,” explains Julie, “aligning with each client’s individual needs, so they can focus on what matters most: enjoying the experience.”
ONE-STOP SHOP
Leveraging Julie’s extensive experi-

ence in yachting and Emily’s background in shipping, the multilingual team also provides all the traditional services, going one step further as exclusive providers of a curated collection of sought-after niche solutions.
As owner representatives, Seanesthisis seamlessly navigates the complex process of yacht acquisition and customisation. In fact, Julie recently obtained the Yacht Owner’s Representative Programme (YORP) certification – an internationally-accredited qualification focused on the management of new-build superyacht projects. Whether outfitting new builds or refits, providing ongoing yacht management services, or managing provisioning for superyachts stopping off in Cyprus, Seanesthisis are also experts at supplying yachts—collaborating with top designers and suppliers both in Cyprus and internationally, to equip each project with only “the best of the best” products and amenities. Additionally, the team can provide dedicated yacht photography and marketing support for clients looking to sell or charter their vessels. Managing the entire process – from styling to organising professional photography, videography and 360-degree virtual tours. “It’s all part of our commitment to making the experience seamless, elevated and thoughtfully executed from start to finish,” adds Emily.

IN A WORLD OBSESSED WITH TRACKING STEPS AND CHASING TRENDS, WELLNESS CAN START TO FEEL LIKE ANOTHER ITEM ON THE TO-DO LIST. BUT AT SANCTUM, THE NOISE FADES, AND WHAT REMAINS IS A REFINED RETURN TO BALANCE, ROOTED IN NATURE, SCIENCE AND SEA. WELCOME TO ‘BLUE HEALTH’.
INTO THE BLUE

Stavros Stavrou, Director of Operations at Sanctum Spa & Fitness, leads the centre’s holistic wellness strategy—combining smart recovery tools, magnesium-enriched pools and sustainable practices to support long-term health.
Managing wellness in modern times can seem like a fast track to overwhelm. From wearables monitoring our steps and sleep, to gruelling exercise routines and designer diets. But step inside Sanctum Spa & Fitness and you’ll find the focus is on mind, body and spirit, blending fitness, recovery and self-care by the water, while at the core of this philosophy is a deep connection to the environment and sea, derived from clean ingredients, natural therapies and sustainable choices
HOLISTIC AND SUSTAINABLE
Call it an unfair advantage, but according to Director of Operations, Stavros Stavrou, Sanctum’s holistic care starts the moment you enter the Marina. The coastal air, rich in beneficial negative ions, can improve oxygen absorption, lung function and respiratory health, while exposure to natural light and sea views boosts dopamine and serotonin levels, reducing anxiety and elevating mood. For maximum wellbeing, Stavros suggests arriving early, to enjoy the Med’s uplifting views over a freshly-brewed coffee from Sanctum’s Health Bar. The combo offers a natural pre-workout ritual to increase energy and focus, while kick-starting the fat-burning process. Thereafter, clients can warm up at the newly-renovated cardio section and work out against the same sweeping blue vistas. Training is delivered via Sanctum’s own digital app, by joining a group class, or working one-on-one with an expert personal trainer. Eco-awareness and sensitivity are also woven into the user experience. Ever since Sanctum replaced all harsh chemicals with magnesium minerals in 2024, clients’ use of the pool has become increasingly popular and beneficial. “We added about 1,000 kilos of magnesium salts with potassium, which dissolve and ionise in the water,” says Stavros, with the move turning out to be a win-win for both clients’ health, as well as for the wellbeing of the environment.
RESET AND RECOVERY
Recovery is also taken very seriously at Sanctum, with the goal of optimising each workout, and positively impacting overall health. To this end, the centre recently invested in six, top-of-the-line Theragun massage guns, which clients can use post workout to accelerate recovery, prevent muscle soreness, increase blood flow and flush out painful lactic acid and toxins. “Recovery is a key part of our holistic wellness concept,” says Stavros, “When you leave, you should feel energised, not in pain. If you recover faster, you can consistently train more often.” Sanctum’s two thermal areas also support this proactive recovery philosophy. For a full reset, Stavros recommends contrast therapy: alternating between the sauna and swimming pool to boost circulation, recovery and overall wellbeing. Recovery extends to the Health Bar, where a curated menu has been designed to support workout performance and post-workout recovery. “We look after the before, during, and after of health and wellbeing,” says Stavros. “No stone is left unturned.”
“WE TEACH OUR CLIENTS TO LISTEN TO THEIR BODIES, RESPECT THEIR LIMITS, MANAGE THEIR EMOTIONS AND GAIN GREATER SELFDISCIPLINE.”

‘WELLNESS 360°’
Whether your goal is to improve your VO2 max, boost your fast-twitch muscle fibres or transform your flexibility, stamina and body-awareness, Sanctum’s cutting-edge gym and fitness centre delivers. “We believe in a multifaceted ‘wellness 360°’ philosophy,” says Gym Manager Antonis Skoumpris, as part of an approach merging state-of-the-art training with “a unique sense of calm and renewal, reducing stress levels and increasing a sense of wellbeing”. Combining traditional forms of exercise, like functional movement training, with modern methods, such as high-intensity interval training (HIIT), Antonis and his team have also recently incorporated gentler practices like Pilates and yoga, mindfulness techniques and relaxation breathing, as well as discussions on proper nutrition. Attention is also brought to details, such as aromatherapy, soft lighting and relaxing music. Ultimately, this holistic approach seeks to find the right balance between body, mind and emotions. As Antonis explains, with regular exercise, we not only improve our cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems, but we also enhance our resilience to stress, given the release of mood-elevating endorphins and serotonin.
TUNING IN TO THE BODY
“We teach our clients to listen to their bodies, respect their limits, manage their emotions and gain greater self-discipline,” he says. On the other side of such efforts, Antonis and his teammates also place a particular focus on tailored guidance, with expert personal trainers on hand at all times -- both for private sessions, as well as offering advice while you work out independently. Such dedication ensures clients follow correct form, executing each exercise correctly and safely -- from undergoing a full warm-up to ensuring a proper cool-down and stretching once the weights are back on their racks. The trainers also partner with therapists across Sanctum’s other departments, to ensure each client’s programme is adjusted to their specific needs.
Under the guidance of Gym Manager Antonis Skoumpris and his team, clients train with proper form and increased body awareness.
“FROM THE MOMENT THEY WALK IN, I ASSESS THEIR SKIN, DO A CONSULTATION, ASK HOW THEY’RE FEELING, WHAT THEY WANT TO ACHIEVE, AND ADJUST ACCORDINGLY.”

Head Therapist and Skin Expert Tabitha Soteriou says the spa’s soothing, personalised treatments rely on premium sciencebacked and nature-friendly products.
WHERE NATURE MEETS SCIENCE
Step upstairs to Sanctum’s serene spa, and you’ll find a range of face and body therapies, rituals and massages to soothe, restore and revitalise you. Head Therapist and Skin Expert Tabitha Soteriou and her team offer personalised care, combining science-backed techniques with premium-quality, natural products. “Our newly-refined menu covers everything,” confirms Tabitha, a Sanctum veteran of over a decade. “We have incredible Thai therapists, Ayurvedic treatments, body therapies and a full range of skin treatments.” Committed to natural wellness, Sanctum’s menu features a curated range of product lines, prioritising non-toxic ingredients and sustainable practices. These include Greek brands Naxos and Korres, along with award-winning iS Clinical and Augustinus Bader. Rooted in Greek botanicals, Naxos and Korres deliver clean results via naturally-harvested ingredients, while iS Clinical and Augustinus Bader blend pharmaceutical-grade actives with potent natural ingredients. Comparing natural formulas to vitamins for the skin, Tabitha says the aim is to deliver gentle, reliable, long-term solutions, safe for daily use. The result? Clients consistently report positive outcomes, which include healthy aging, and glowing, balanced skin.
VITAMINS, MINERALS AND RELAXATION
One of the spa’s most popular treatments – “clients rave about it, they feel amazing and don’t expect the results to last so long” – is iS Clinical’s renowned Fire & Ice facial. “It’s what we call our red-carpet treatment,” says Tabitha. Gentler than a chemical peel, this enzyme peel delivers impressive, long-lasting results. The hero ingredients include Extremeozymes: plant-derived actives, clinically proven to work on a higher level. “It’s all about repairing, moisturising and healing the skin, but the Extremeozymes inside help that happen faster,” explains Tabitha. The process is as much art as science. Ultimately, “from the moment they walk in, I assess their skin, do a consultation and ask how they’re feeling, what they want to achieve, and adjust accordingly,” she shares – an approach that also applies to the customisable body massage therapies, too. Amplified by the fresh sea air, by the end of any session, the spa will have soothed the client into a profound sense of peace, delivering relaxation naturally. “This used to be seen as a luxury,” says Tabitha. “Now, it’s a necessity. Everyone deserves to feel cared for, and we understand what they need and make them feel better.”

STYLING, COLOURS AND SHINE
There’s nothing like stylish grooming to bring pep to your day, dial up your confidence and reinvent yourself for that special occasion. And that’s just what Sanctum’s high-end hair and nail salon, run by Marios Papadopoulos and his specialists, delivers. The salon ensures clients receive personalised self-care from industry experts -- “colour, highlights, cuts of all kinds, styling and special treatments” -- thanks to its wide range of treatments, as the perfect complement to the other wellness experiences on offer. Especially popular is the salon’s special keratin treatment, and a deep, nourishing treatment for extremely damaged hair, designed to reconnect broken bonds through a three-step process, leaving locks visibly healthier, softer and revived. Going the extra mile is the norm, says Marios, “so, we add in a hot-towel massage. This not only boosts results by helping the formula penetrate the hair and scalp, but also enhances the experience for the client.”
Most of the treatments use Italian hair-care brand Davines, renowned as much for the quality of their salon-grade products, as for their dedication to sustainability. Every aspect of the brand is geared in this direction, from growing the natural and organic ingredients behind their professional formulas, to their low-impact pack-

aging solutions. “I have visited Davines in Italy, and they are really serious about the sustainability,” confirms Marios. Davines’ ranges are also results-driven and beneficial to the hair and scalp. Using natural ingredients, specific issues, such as hair loss, oily or itchy scalp and dandruff, are targeted. “Clients are amazed at the difference after using these products,” Marios shares. “The hair feels refreshed, with more texture, shine and volume.”
EXPERIENCE MEETS PERSONALISATION
Combined with extensive experience in the hair industry, the team can also recommend products and integrate treatments based on a client’s specific goals. “I love to talk to my clients, really get to know them and learn about their lifestyles,” says Marios, “so I can give personalised consultations to help them get the best results.” This warm, customised approach keeps clients coming back, with many salon clientele being loyal regulars and gym members. Appointments are also spaced out, to ensure a one-to-one, “more relaxed and personal” experience. Marios also often recommends specific trainers or spa therapists to his clients, based on a deeper understanding of compatibility and personality. “We are a very close team, like a family,” he says, “so we can connect the dots between departments, which makes it feel like a complete experience.”

ECO WAVE MAKERS
WITH THE ISLAND FORGING ITS OWN PATH TO CLIMATECHANGE ADAPTATION AND SUSTAINABILITY, HOME-GROWN ECO WARRIORS ARE TAKING ON THE CHALLENGE. HERE, WE MEET THE DEDICATED INNOVATORS, ACTIVISTS AND ENTREPRENEURS BRINGING THEIR EXPERTISE AND UNIQUE VISION TO THE MISSION.

Blessed with year-round sunshine, rich nature preserves and enticing coasts, Cyprus nevertheless faces challenges when it comes to protecting its environment and transitioning to a circular economy. But while the pressures are considerable, Cyprus has no shortage of scientists, green NGOs and sustainabilityoriented entrepreneurs to rise to the occasion. These visionaries have made it their mission to drive the tech innovations, lobby for the research-backed policies and promote the best practices to empower society to adapt to the environment’s changing demands. Today, with the clock ticking, and Europe aiming to become the world’s first climate-neutral continent by 2050, the island is seeing eco initiatives taking shape across sectors. Meet three voices reshaping Cyprus’ environmental future.
“UNDER DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES, WE COULD BE THE PARADISE OF SUSTAINABILITY AND BEST AGRICULTURAL PRACTICES; A PILOT CASE FOR THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY.”
With a Cypriot father and Greek mother, Dr Xenia Loizidou’s personal connection to the sea was arguably predestined. She spent her childhood riding her bike along Paphos’ pristine shoreline, having been born — like her brother Michael — in their mother’s native Athens, because “like a turtle, she was going back to her motherland or the coast to deliver her babies”. In time, the mathematically-gifted girl grew up to study civil and coastal engineering, establishing the ISOTECH environmental consultancy with her chemical engineer sibling, and becoming a founding member of the AKTI Project and Research Centre. Given her decades of work in coastal erosion management, she has observed the phenomenon first-hand. “In Cyprus, we have 70 percent of our coastline retreating due to human interventions, with the cost being that we lose precious coastal land,” reveals the engineer environmentalist.
PROMOTING A CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Today, AKTI researches Cyprus’ unique ecosystems, promotes the emergence of an eco-conscious society, and engages in Integrated Coastal Zone Management. As Chair of AKTI, Xenia sees positive signs of an emerging local circular econ-

omy. “I strongly believe the people of Cyprus are ready and willing to implement sustainability practices,” she says. For example, “as AKTI, we have a network of more than 350 HoReCa members, and small tavernas came up with an idea to buy goats and chickens. They feed them their green waste, and minimise the amount of waste they take to the landfills: it’s a win-win.” Nevertheless, while AKTI’s mission is rewarding, decision-makers’ failure to implement sufficiently sustainable solutions, remains a challenge. Under different circumstances, says Xenia, “we could be the paradise of sustainability and best agricultural practices; a pilot case for the circular economy”. Still, her native determination demands she stay the course. “With engineering, you learn to be problem-solving,” she says. “There is no saying ‘this can’t be done’. We are trained to say how this can be done.”
TECH-DRIVEN INNOVATION
In terms of commercial work, ISOTECH has successfully undertaken engineering projects in over 50 countries, drawing high-level European funding and distinctions along the way. Current works include developing biomaterials to replace plastic agricultural mulching film that farmers across the world – including in Cyprus – use to protect crops from weeds. “Right now, microplastics and nanoplastics are getting through the roots in, for example, the lettuce, and we’re eating them.” But given that biomaterial is biodegradable, once the product is ready for market, the benefits, including for Cyprus, are clear. Other efforts include ISOTECH’s participation in SeaClear 2.0, a robotics and artificial intelligence-driven project to clear deep sea beds and harbours of marine litter weighing up to 250kg. As for the future? In spite of the island’s frustratingly slow adaptation to environmental risks, Xenia takes heart from Cypriot youth. “They’re more educated, more aware of what’s happening. I trust them. I trust them very much.”

“SUSTAINABILITY IS ABOUT BUILDING COMPANIES’ RESILIENCE. AND IT STARTS WITH ETHICAL AND RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP, APPROPRIATE POLICIES, AND PROCEDURES TO IMPLEMENT THESE POLICIES THROUGHOUT THE ORGANISATION.”

Over the 2010s, with climate change intensifying, Irene Loucaides had a professional epiphany. While working for a listed tourism organisation, she was tasked with preparing the company’s first sustainability report. “It was something the board knew nothing about, and I needed to make them understand why this issue was worthy of attention,” she recalls. Engaging with sustainability and ESG criteria, which evaluate a company’s environmental stewardship, social responsibility and corporate governance, it became clear an organisation’s every operation stood to be impacted, regardless of size or sector. “That’s when I realised this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life,” shares Irene. “Finding solutions to sustainability’s most pressing issues: from the climate crisis to inequality to corruption— these are barriers to our progress as a society.”
SUSTAINABILITY DRIVES PROFITABILITY
So, when COVID shut down the world in 2020, she founded Grow Sustainability Consulting, to help companies embed sustainability into their core operations and culture. “Sustainability is about building companies’ resilience,” Irene explains. “And it starts with having ethical and responsible leadership, appropriate policies, and procedures as to how to implement these policies throughout the organisation. When you look into all of these indicators, your operations improve. That’s why sustainability is linked to profitability.” A key sustainability principle is also embedding stakeholders’ - not just shareholders’ - views into decisionmaking and strategy-setting. Today, that includes earth itself. And what gives the planet a voice? “It’s scientific research, the findings from the IPCC report, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and so on.”
LOCAL-GLOBAL ESG TRANSITION
Today, Europe has compelled the island “to place sustainability higher on its agenda, to create our national strategies, to implement laws into our local legislation”, says Irene. Companies are also paying more attention to sustainability, pressured by their own stakeholders. Nevertheless, making deep change takes time, despite promising developments, such as greater use of solar energy and progress in social equity. For herself, Irene is all in. Alongside awarded work for multinational companies and local SMEs, as well as launching Grow’s unique ESG data-management platform, she also organises biennial congresses to upskill NGOs, provides thought leadership through her “Inside ESG” podcast, and supports local kids battling health challenges as part of Grow’s own CSR. “It’s a journey that never ends,” she says. “There is no: ‘I’ve reached my goal. Let’s fold it up and go home’. You can always improve in this field. And if we have long-term vision and good change management, Cyprus can accomplish a lot and become a best-practices case study.”

Grow Sustainability Consulting Managing Director Irene Loucaides is on a lifelong mission to help companies embed ESG practices across their core operations and culture.

From its establishment in 1993 to the present day, Friends of the Earth (FoE) Cyprus has mobilised communities to embrace sustainable practices and advocate for social justice. For her part, Project Coordinator Sara Mariza Vryonidi models the power of such collaborative can-do. A native of Limassol, she joined the organisation after completing her studies in physics, energy and sustainable development, and today oversees several of its initiatives. “If we continue business as usual, we’ll be in trouble,” she says, referring to climate change’s impact on the local environment. And business as usual is the opposite of what FoE stands for. “We take a bottom-up approach,” she adds. “We ask children, we ask owners of shops, we ask people of the neighbourhood, what they would like to see changing in their area.”
CLIMATE NEUTRALITY MISSION
Given their multi-stakeholder philosophy, FoE projects demand patience, creativity and network-building. Current initiatives include the Lemesos City Cooling Challenge (LC3), part of Limassol’s goal to achieve climate neutrality by 2030. “The most important challenge that Limassol faces is the limit of green public spaces,” says Sara Mariza. “That increases the urban heat island effect — the ceiling you have in the city when you walk or do any activity — so the city gets warmer and warmer. If we had more green spaces, and didn’t have

so many streets blocking soil from being on the surface, we wouldn’t face this issue.” LC3’s actions include minor interventions in small city spaces or on buildings, to reduce the heat ceiling during the warmest months.
POWERING GREEN SOLUTIONS
Other FoE projects include reducing plastic waste (ERIC), developing an app for a digital platform that facilitates HoReCa food surplus donations (Food Connect), and promoting uptake of small human- or electric-powered devices for short urban trips (MicroMobi). Ongoing efforts also focus on protecting biodiversity, supporting renewable energy communities, and driving eco advocacy. Recent successes include designing Plastic Prevention Plans for Nicosia and Ypsonas – “shortterm actions include switching to non-single-use cups for all employees, while longer-term actions cover establishing water-refill stations,” she explains. Meanwhile, a recent micromobility conference in Limassol featured best-practice-sharing by the Dutch Cycling Embassy’s Chris Bruntlett.
Looking ahead, much work remains. Yet Sara Mariza and her FoE teammates remain undaunted. “I think every one of us could be an agent of change — not only in our personal lives, but also in pushing for and demanding change — change where our hands reach, as we say in Cyprus.”

Used both in cooking and as a finishing touch, the green-gold oil adds finesse to standout dishes such as the Sensational Sea Bass fillets with crunchy sweet and sour veg and crispy shallots, the Octopus and Potato Salad, the Beautiful Burrata and the King Prawn Spaghetti. “These dishes would be incomplete without the olive oil,” adds Christina. “It ties everything together, enhancing flavours and adding a silky finish.”
HEALTHY BODY, HEALTHY PLANET
Jamie’s core principles of freshness, simplicity and sustainability guide the entire menu. “Using local ingredients

lets us honour the traditions of Mediterranean cuisine, combining bold flavours with natural goodness,” Christina explains. Wellbeing goes beyond nutrition. The team shares a deep commitment to social and environmental responsibility. “Sustainability for us is holistic – it’s about sourcing locally, supporting producers, minimising waste, and cooking nose-totail and root-to-stem,” says Christina. The team hopes every guest feels a connection – to the food, the place, and the people behind it. “Beyond the flavours, we want guests to leave with a sense of joy, warmth, and maybe a little inspiration for their own kitchen.”
