MEGA MENTORS’ mission

to teach life skills, provide meaningful learning experiences and build leadership skills in African American and other underrepresented Chesterfield County Public School students through mentoring, experiential field trips and recognition.

YEAR IN REVIEW 20232024

During the 2023-2024 school year we have continued to rebuild to pre-pandemic levels, increasing the number of students reached by 1/3 over last year. Mentees met in small groups with their mentor developing relationships; promoting positive and healthy life choices; reducing risks associated with anti-social behavior and social isolation; and discovering new horizons and possibilities.

One student described the three things she learned from the program as: ”1) how to cope 2) how to be kinder and respectful 3) how to become a better person.”

Another shared her key take-aways as: Stay focused. Stay positive. Stay strong.

These are messages and lessons that young people will carry with them for a lifetime.
