Punk rock is making a comeback from the 70s almost stronger than ever.
during the 70s androgynous artists rised from the darker corners of society, rejecting gender roles that were set before hand.
Punk became a social movement on freedom and individuality, expressing our identity in the form of rebellion. This was supported by many artists and icons such as David
Bowie, Vivienne Westwood and The Sex Pistols. Bowie helped the movement of male feminitiy and the destruction of gender roles. Meanwhile VW and the sex pistols were plotting their next meaningful message with their music/designs.

Political Punk Political Punk
The 1970s Punk music scene emerged due to many politics, unemployment & police/public oppression. Resulting in rebellion against maintream atandpoints, as a form of challenging the governments laws and conformity to them. Punk artists were able to use music to speak about their feelings on these issues, especially the sex pistols on their ironic singles ‘god save the queen’ and ‘anarchy in the UK’
Maximalism
The inception of punk music by psychedelic msuic/fahsion from artists incorperating this into their songs. Portraying rebellion from its use of psychedelic drugs later turning into acid rock which was very much linked with punk gigs back in the 70s. Reinforcing the classic saying or trend ‘sex drugs and rock&roll’ through similar attitudes, which has been flourishing through the years. Many rock and punk bands helped maintain this such as Nirvana, who held a strong influence on the Rock music industry due to their popularity.
