Pokagon Band’s Department of Education has several programs available to tribal citizens to aid students starting on their education journey and those seeking to expand on their ongoing learning experience. Many programs are available to fit the needs of individuals of all ages. Cathy Stone is the Director of Education, she leads a knowledgeable team of experts who are available to guide students toward educational excellence. Please familiarize yourself with the programs outlined below to be sure you’re accessing all the benefits available to you and your family.

The WAY Program (Widening Advancement for Youth) offers an alternative method to earning a high school diploma. The WAY Program provides personalized learning experiences led by qualified instructors who teach and assess student progress to ensure they meet all state standards. Dave Janicki, teacher assistant, says, “This program is thriving and is a great way for young people to earn a high school diploma in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere.” This program is offered to students in grades 9-12.
