On our 17th anniversary, CrabFest welcomes each and every one of you to one of the best seafood festivals in the country. CrabFest is the annual celebration of the Olympic Peninsula’s diverse bounty — the seafood, agriculture and aquaculture, maritime history, cultural traditions and the breathtaking coastal environment. all open for you! The Port Angeles Farmers Market, usually held at the Gateway Pavilion, will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Vern Burton Community Center parking lot, at the corner of Peabody and Fourth streets.

We need your help! A variety of volunteer positions are available throughout the weekend. For more information and a volunteer application in advance of the festival, visit crabfestival.org/ volunteers or inquire at one of the information booths during the festival. Volunteers receive a volunteer T-shirt, and those working two or more shifts are rewarded with a free ½ crab dinner. Everyone gets the thanks of the community.

INGREDIENTS: 1 stick butter 1 pkg cream cheese 1 can Campbells Golden Mushroom Soup 1 pkg crab meat (about 8 oz) DIRECTIONS: 1/2 tsp chilli powder Heat cream cheese and canned soup 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce over low heat until very warm. Stir in 1 tsp onion powder all ingredients, except crab, and blend (or carmelized onion) well. Gently fold crab into mix and warm 1/4 tsp salt over low heat. Serve warm with chips, 1/4 tsp pepper crackers, etc. 1 tsp hot sauce
