the parade route collecting eyeglass donations for Lions vision programs. Retiring Mayor Nancy Conard will be leading her final parade as mayor in her signature Frosty the Snowman costume. She said she hasn’t decided what the future will hold for her role in the parade after this year. As with each Greening, all events are weather dependent, said Lynda Eccles with the Coupeville Chamber of Commerce. Last year, the community had such exceptional weather, that Conard actually had to stop halfway down the parade route because she became overheated in her snowman costume. She finished the event riding on the back of a tractor. Shortly after the parade, the community will gather at Cook’s Corner Park for a tree lighting. Carols will be lead from the porch of Anchorage Inn and after the lighting, crowds can shop on Front Street during a Late Night Shopping event. Then go on down to the Coupeville Wharf and watch participants in the Lighted Boat Parade.
