Street maintenance workers will be busy for the next two years. On Monday Auburn Street Systems Engineer Jai Carter ran the Auburn City Council through what the department expects to get done in 2016 and 2017 under the auspices of the Save our Streets Local Street Preservation program and the 2016 Arterial Street Preservation program. Save our Streets has a $2.23 million program budget for 2016, $1.6 million in 2017 and $500,000 in both of those years for each of the water funds.
