A love most unexpected

Everett Public Schools investigated concerns about special needs students’ services and alleged retaliation against school staff by supervisors. By Chris Winters Herald Writer

EVERETT — A recent internal investigation of Everett Public Schools’ Special Services Department has cost the district nearly $55,000 in legal fees. Because of the privacy issues that come up when students are involved, and assertions of attorney-client privilege, much of the activity has happened outside the public eye. This has led some to speculate what the investigation found. The school district provided some documents to The Daily Herald in response to a public records request and offered other information that addressed some of these concerns.
