Sixth grader raises $7,500 Barber wants in on BY DANIEL NASH ISSAQUAH/SAMMAMISH REPORTER
A Pine Lake Middle School sixth grader raised big money for foster care support nonprofit Treehouse this spring. The Reporter last wrote about Noah Searles on March 25, when he set a goal to raise $1,000 in cash and clothing for Treehouse over the course of a month — and hit nearly $1,500 in one week. He quickly raised his goal to $5,000. Searles recently completed his donation campaign, bringing in $7,545 in money and clothes
from solicitation outside of stores, online donations and clothing. About $6,000 of his donations were in cash. “I want to thank everybody ... that supported, and helped me raise $7,545 and approximately $1,500 in clothing donations for Treehouse, an organization that helps foster families,” Searles wrote the Reporter. Searles collected donations outside of Fred Meyer stores in Issaquah and Redmond, the Nordstrom Rack in Factoria and Safeway on the Sammamish Plateau.

The city of Issaquah is currently served by Eastside Fire & Rescue
and would continue to be served by that agency under a Regional Fire Protection Service Authority. But Issaquah is one of many local government service customers handled by Eastside Fire & Rescue — including Carnation, May Valley, North Bend, Preston, Tiger Mountain, Sammamish and Wilderness Rim — several of which are dealt with separately in setting SEE GOALS, 3
