Diane Schostak, Forks resident and longtime tourism leader, passes at 59 Diane Schostak, a longtime Forks resident and the former director of the Forks Chamber of Commerce and retired executive director of the Olympic Peninsula Visitor Bureau, has lost her battle with cancer. Diane was loved by so many; what a blessing. Thank you all for caring and showing your love and support during these difficult and trying days.”

that Matt got the bid on the elk, his purchase means it will stay local.” Another donation that Leppell noted was from the family of Harry Reynolds. The chair donated by his family at a time when they are suffering their loss was a very special item for Leppell. The main message Quillayute Valley Scholarship chairman Jerry Leppell wants everyone to know is “Thank You.” “I just want to really thank everyone, I absolutely want them to know how welcome every donation was, no matter how big or how small, how every bid that came in was so appreciated.” Leppell said. The auction featured 1,094 items over the two-day event last weekend. For Leppell, some of the donations had extra special meaning as they were from some longtime residents of the area who have died. “I really want to thank Judy McClanahan for donating the elk mount that belonged to her late husband Larry.” “Over the years Larry has supported the auction and that was really a very special donation.” Leppell added. Leppell wanted to thank Matt Hagen for purchasing the elk mount. “I am so proud
