Single-family residential building permits, commercial building

permits, sales tax revenue – these are among the instruments the City of Auburn uses to assess the strength of its economy. Judging by these, City officials

say that as 2014 gives way to 2015, Auburn looks to be in good shape. At this time last year, singlefamily permits and commercial permits were about the same, but

sales tax revenue is up about 10 percent. With the new construction coming in 2015, City officials expect the numbers to keep rising. Here are some of the 2014 high-

Auburn stubbornly cling to the list of possible locales for King County’s new recycling and transfer station. They are at 901 C St. SW, near the City’s Maintenance and Operations yard east of The Outlet Collection Mall, and at 28721 W. Valley Highway S. in north Auburn. [ more STATION page 7 ]
