at an undisclosed block of SW 319th Lane, a 7-year-old child called police to inform them that his mother had left him and a four-yearold sibling alone for a number of hours. The report notes the mother arrived back at home while police were still on the scene.

Hundreds turn out for Comcast Cares Day FROM STAFF REPORTS

Nearly 400 volunteers showed up for Comcast Cares Day on April 26 at Camp Kilworth in Federal Way. Federal Way volunteers helped install new flag poles, they laid park and gravel, replaced fire bowl benches, cut grass and brush, painted signs, repaired fencing and an obstacle course and replaced picnic table tops. The Federal Way volunteers were part of 2,300 volunteers in total who gave their time and energy around the state as part of the Comcast Cares program. The work at Camp Kilworth was organized by staff from Comcast’s field office in Auburn, which serves South King County. They also helped arrange for 26 people to do prep work before the big day on April 26. “We are so thankful of the work that Comcast employees and Scout volunteers completed,” said Camp Kilworth caretaker Kristina Miller. “Thousands of hours were donated to help us prepare for Scouts attending camp this summer and throughout the year.”

Erik Honda graduates from Iowa Law Enforcement Academy FROM STAFF REPORTS

Erik Honda, son of Federal Way City Councilwoman Susan Honda and husband Bruce Honda, was part of the 255th graduating class of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. Honda’s graduation ceremony took place on April 18, and he will now serve with the city of Dubuque Police Department. According to information provided by his family, Honda is a 2002 graduate of Decatur High School, and attended the University of Dubuque, where he was a wrestler. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in special education from the university and

Man assaulted by sisters: At 2:09

Apartment complex resident causes disturbance: At 1:00 p.m.,

on May 3, in the 1900 block of SW Campus Drive, numerous residents of the Cascade Ridge apartments reported that a woman, who is a resident of the apartments, was yelling at and assaulting other residents of the complex. According to the report, when officers arrived, a number of residents approached them to inform them that the woman had slapped them when they
