Oklahoma City school district hires superintendent Rob Neu BY GREG ALLMAIN AND RUDI ALCOTT The Mirror
The Oklahoma City Public School District hired
Federal Way Public Schools Superintendent Robert Neu to be their next superintendent in an 8-0 vote by their board of directors on Monday evening. Neu will start this position in July but will begin the transition in June. His contract is effective July 1 for an initial
three-year period and is renewable annually. He will be paid a $240,000 salary, along with an annual $10,000 car allowance and $25,000 in annuities. Neu said he chose this job because “I am really impressed with the work that they have done downtown and the incredible work
they have done with the schools and the planning on transit and trails. It’s just a really exciting time in Oklahoma City and their commitment to improving their schools is exciting.” Neu said that while the decision to leave Federal Way was tough, “It’s a great opportunity for me to come
in at this time.” Neu added, “I have loved serving the Federal Way community and the students of Federal Way. This has been a phenomenal experience over the last four years. I realize we have had some challenges, and we’ve made some mistakes, but every decision was made
