New medical pavilion takes wing By ROBERT WHALE rwhale@auburn-reporter.com

DEMO DUTY Demolition crews began to tear down the first half of the Business and Industry building at Green River Community College early last week, clearing the way for the construction of the 65,000-square-foot Student

Life Center. All materials produced by the demolitions are to be recycled. The new center, including a bookstore, stage and dining area, is expected to open in 2015. ROSS COYLE, Reporter

Of course, one of the big ideas behind St. Francis Medical Group’s new medical pavilion north of Auburn’s Fred Meyer is to bring its services into a community where they weren’t available before. When she’s a bit older this fall, Annabelle will become half of the knock-’em-stiff tandem of Libby and Annabelle, the two bovine stars of WRVM’s student field-trip program. Annabelle’s job: be a mas-

The Pacific Police Department is getting another tool to fight crime and protect the public. The City Council on Monday approved the purchase of a combination radar detector trailer and message board to help cut the number of speeders on city streets. The $16,636 trailer – manufactured by Stalker Applied Concepts of Plano, Texas – is essentially a 48-by-96-inch LED reader board mounted on a two-wheel trailer.
