Four of six candidates for elected positions in Bonney Lake attended the Bonney Lake Chamber of Commerce elections forum Thursday. Shawnta Mulligan, James “Kelly” McClimans, Sr., Dan Swatman and Neil Johnson answered questions about business and development in the city, and how they plan to approach them in another

term. Mulligan is running against Donn Lewis, who was not able to attend, for City Council Position No. 6. She is a former software engineer who, alongside fellow council candidate and father McClimans, campaigned against Proposition No. 1, the April special election measure to form a taxing district for city parks. She said she wanted to redirect municipal government’s focus from generating tax revenue to the citizens and businesses driving the city. “I’m very concerned,” she said. “When I went around to many businesses with my (children) passing out fliers
