Bonney Lake city employees raised nearly $1,800 for the Shop With A Cop program, presented in part to Chief Dana Powers Wednesday at the opening of Tunes @ Tapps. Team Bonney Lake — led by Administrative Specialists Carol Paul and Debbie McDonald, Judicial Specialist Helen Williams, and Tabitha McDonald — raised the money selling hot dogs and soft drinks at the city’s summer concert series, as well as popcorn at the Kid’s Club and Friday Night Flix.

Stafford prepares for City budget online Sumner doctor’s 90th By Theresa De Lay Staff Writer

A Sumner retirement community will hold an open house Sept. 27 to celebrate the 90th birthday of retired physician Dr. Patrick Duffy. Stafford Suites is seeking baby photos from anyone delivered by the doctor.

Duffy is believed to have delivered nearly 2,500 children during his 52 years of family practice in the city. Stafford is inviting the doctor’s friends and former patients to attend the celebration, which will take place from 2 to 4 p.m.
