Are you aware that your diet regimen might be conditioning your body to hold on to more fat? Got your attention? Great, allow me to briefly explain a wonderful, but confusing fat loss hormone called Leptin. And then I’ll share with you a fun little “trick” that our clients have implemented with huge success. On a typical diet there’s a restriction of calories. Doing so causes leptin levels to plummet, triggering starvation mode. Leptin sends a signal to your brain to eat, but to eat voraciously to store more fat, because it thinks your body may need it. The vicious cycle of restricting calories will basically turn you into a fat-storing zombie, and leave you scratching your head, wondering what the hell happened to your body. Okay, so here’s the fun trick to turn you back into a fatburning machine (if you’ve been on a typical diet). Have a cheat meal, once a week. Whatever you’ve been

craving the whole week, have it. You can have ANYTHING you want for this meal. However, I suggest you don’t binge eat and make yourself sick. It’s important to be strategic about this cheat meal and STOP when you’re full. Strategically planning a cheat meal will spike your leptin levels naturally. Doing so will allow leptin to send the correct signal to your brain that “everything is okay” and tells your body to start releasing and burning fat FREELY. In addition, you’ll also want to make sure that you have plenty of carbs since research suggests that leptin levels and carb intake are

closely linked to opening up your fat burning pathways. That’s all there is to it, provided you do it correctly. This trick may just be the golden fat-burning ticket your body has been looking for. The number of school children receiving free or subsidized meals is skyrocketing. Many come from families that until recently counted themselves as solidly middle class. As the economy continues to sputter, the youngest members of society often suffer the greatest hardships. The latest data released by the U.S. Department of

the school lunch program has steadily expanded and has now a $10.8 billion annual budget, providing 32 million meals every day, 21 million of which are free or subsidized. Children from families of four with annual incomes of under $30K qualify for free meals, while subsidies are available to those from households with less than $42K. Because of the increasing need, some school districts have added free breakfast – and even supper programs to

prevent children from going hungry. But in most places funds are too limited to meet the demand. These statistics reflect nothing less than a rapidly growing national crisis. What happens when children are

not in school during vacation times with no access to regular meals? What happens to children who are continuously malnourished, missing out on key nutrients essential for their healthy growth? Young children are most

vulnerable to the effects of malnutrition. During growth spurts they need large amounts of calories, protein, fat and vitamins.
