Key Bank robbed in Factoria – again The Key Bank in Factoria was robbed twice in two weeks. COURTESY PHOTO
Armed men robbed a bank in the 4100 block of Factoria Boulevard S.E. last Saturday morning. A Key Bank employee reported at 10:07 a.m. that two armed men wearing face masks had just robbed the bank at gunpoint. They fled with an undisclosed
amount of money. There were customers and employees in the bank when the robbers struck. No one was injured. Police didn’t know at the time if the robbery is linked to the robbery two weeks ago at the same location.
Witnesses said the two men were white. Both appeared to be in their mid-to-late 20s, 5 feet 8 inches tall with medium builds. They were both wearing black masks and black clothing. Both men left northbound on Factoria Boulevard in a black small sport
car type of vehicle. The suspects were not located. Anyone with any information about the robbery should contact the Bellevue Police Department through NORCOM dispatch center at 425-5775656.
‘Occupy’ movement comes to the suburbs BY NAT LEVY

Protesters advocate a 10-point plan put forward by MoveOn.org. NAT LEVY, Bellevue Reporter
The Occupy movement has infiltrated the suburbs. No, last Saturday’s Occupy Sammamish demonstration didn’t lead to any arrests or anyone being pepper sprayed. This protest had a different face – about 100 Sammamish, Issaquah and Bellevue residents standing at the corner of 228th and Inglewood Hill Road. They showed that the movement is not just for the young urban populations. “I think it’s critical that the suburbs get some exposure to the fact that there are people here who want to show some brotherhood with these ideas,” said Sammamish resident Rick Allen, a retired elevator constructor. They waived signs seeking increased
taxes on the country’s wealthiest individuals, and a crackdown on large corporations that many say don’t pay their fair share. Though many would consider Sammamish much closer to the 1 percent of the richest Americans rather than the 99 percent Occupy represents – according to the U.S. Census, the median household income in Sammamish is $129,583, three times the national average – residents at the rally say they have felt the pain of the economic downturn and cascading budget cuts. “Many of us used to be solidly middle class and are now poor,” said Judy Dunsire, a retired psychologist who lost all her savings when her husband fell ill. One of the main worries for people like Dunsire, a resident of Providence Point, is the constant talk that Social Security and Medicare [ more PROTEST page 14 ]
Behind the scenes in the Bellevue, Sound Transit light-rail deal BY NAT LEVY nlevy@bellevuereporter.com
When Bellevue and Sound Transit finalized an agreement to fund a downtown tunnel for East Link light-rail through Bellevue last week, it was the culmination of years of political wrangling, and another three months of intense

discussions between officials on both sides. When it was done, they had an agreements spelling out the alignment and how much Bellevue will contribute to the tunnel. The two sides met almost daily at a staff level, and committees of elected representatives met several times over the summer and early fall and emerged with a deal that no one loved, but everyone accepted.

“You don’t get everything you want, and each side gets pushed a little bit outside their comfort zones, and that’s when you come to an agreement that makes sense,” said Bellevue Councilmember Grant Degginger, one of three elected representatives on the city’s negotiating committee.
