Tribunal fixes October 21 for Saraki’s trial lAs Senate President
pleads not guilty By Ikechukwu Okaforadi
T
he Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) headed by Justice Danladi Yakubu Umar yesterday fixed October 21, 22, and 23 respectively for continuation of trial of Senate President Dr Olubukola Saraki. This was after Senate President Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) faulted the falsification of criminal charges levelled against him by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) as he denied the 13-count charges against him. Saraki who used his arraignment to open up, told the code of conduct tribunal prosecuting him in Abuja that he was being brought for trial because of his new status as Senate President. At another point, Saraki said that he was shocked with the issues being raised Senate President Bukola Saraki in accused box, during his trial by Code of Conduct Tribunal on allegation of 13-count charge against him because he was seeing them bordering on corruption and false assets declaration, yesterday in Abuja.
