Rag Committee Elections Be part of the fastest growing student-led fundraising group in the country! Each year RAG (Raise and Give) raises hundred of thousands of pounds for charity and WE NEED YOU to part of our awesome committee that makes this happen.
Committee nominations are open between the 20th September to the 3rd October. You need to send a manifesto under 250 words of why you would be good at the committee position you want to run for to elections@upsu.com along with a picture of your fine self by 12 o’clock 3rd October.
Voting will run between the 6th and 10th of October online at www.upsu.com/volunteer/fundraising/elections/

Events Officer (role share, one position available) Event Officers will sit at the core of RAG helping make decisions about the direction of fundraising at Plymouth, by supporting and creating unique events. As Events officers you will also be responsible for looking after an events sub-committee of student volunteers and watching over their events. A great leadership position, with the opportunity for you to be creative and have a huge impact on fundraising.
Promotion & Recruitment Officers (two person role share) Promotions and recruitment officers are tasked with conquering the social media world in order to get our events as much attention as possible! They will work closely with the core and general committee, as well as using their abilities to recruit volunteers and members. If you think you have the gift of the gab, and fancy working in a marketing style role, this is for you!!!
Health & Safety Officer As our health and safety officer you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our events, and activities, whilst working closely with the events team. If you have an interest the ‘behind the scenes’ of events, and have good organizational skills, or are looking for a great experience to help with future career goals this is for you!
Ball Coordinators (two person role share) You may have attended our winter ball last year, and if not then now is the time to become involved with RAGs Event of the Year! You will be responsible for working closely with the core committee, SU, and other societies to organise one of our biggest fundraisers of the year! There is a lot of responsibility and creativity, and if you are looking to run a major event then this is it!!
Raids Coordinator This is a role for those who can really get out there and shout about RAG, if you are looking for a role in fundraising, but don’t have quite as much time to commit this is the perfect role! You will be responsible for overseeing a group of volunteers to raid the streets of Plymouth, Exeter and London, and the SU for all their spare change! Up for the challenge?
Rag Week Coordinators (two person role share) Rag week Co-ordinators will work closely with our events officer too organise a whole week of fundraising fun, in both the first and second term. If you have a creative events mind, and want some more freedom to organise new events, as well as work closely with other societies to raise funds and awareness, then this is it!!!
Campaigns Coordinator Our campaign co-ordinator is responsible for overseeing the fundraising for charities that are not our nominated 3 but are of great importance to us. Think Movemver and children in need! You will be responsible for working with Events, Promotions and Raids to organise events, and recruit teams of people to help raise more money!!!
Social Secretary Let’s not forget that this society is not all just work and the team needs to be able to celebrate all the hard work we do! If you are a social bee and always know where the place ‘to be’ is, then why not come and help organise socials for the team to bring them together! Why not organise a team building paintball event?!! If you love hosting the party apply here!
Sponsorship Coordinator This is a role that requires confidence, and the ability to talk fluently about RAG and what we do, in the hope of securing sponsorship and donation for events or the Society as a whole! If you have an interest in running your own business or have some entrepreneurial inclinations than this is great way to boost those skills, and get some experience!
Admin & Recruitment Coordinator Would you like to be the voice of RAG? The one that’s shouts ‘Hey look at what we are doing? Come give us a hand!’? This is a role for those who believe that they can help confidentially spread the word of RAG whilst helping to support other admin positions such as treasurer and Health & safety? If you think you are a person of many skills and outgoing come shout for us!
