Youth Library Fricker M – TH |6 pm – 9 pm F | 6 pm – 8 pm S | 8 am – 2 pm Free | Ages: 5 – 17 Due to the generosity of our local community, the Fricker Resource Center now has a Youth Library. Youth can relax and read works of fiction and nonfiction in a comfortable and quiet space. The Youth Library at Fricker Resource Center is open to youth ages 5 – 17 from October 1, 2021 – May 22, 2022 following the Escambia County School District academic calendar.

Youth programs help strengthen a young person’s sense of identity and builds character. It’s exhilarating to witness a child gain confidence in their contribution to a team or make a new discovery. We’re here to help children build skills in an approach that positively impacts their development.

EDUCATION AND ENRICHMENT

Incredible Years Cobb and Woodland Heights M, T|9 am – 12 pm (Cobb) W, TH | 9 am – 12 pm (Woodland Heights) Free | Ages: 3 – 4 City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation has partnered with CDAC Behavioral Healthcare to offer free School Readiness for 3- and 4-year-old children to prepare them for academic success upon entering primary grade school. Program enrollment operates throughout the school year following the Escambia County School District academic calendar. MARTIAL ARTS

Yoshukai Karate Vickrey M, W |6 pm – 8 pm $70 per month | Ages: 8+ Yoshukai Karate is a branch discipline of Japanese martial arts whose translated meaning is “Training Hall of Continued Improvement.” Yoshukai is instructed by Hiroaki Toyama, an 8th-degree black belt. All ages 8 and up are welcome!

BASEBALL AND T-BALL

Recreational T-Ball League Cobb, Fricker and Woodland Heights Practice and game times TBD $25 (Includes Hat & Jersey) | Ages: 5 – 7 Children will learn the fundamentals of the sport along with teamwork and sportsmanship. Registration will open on March 1 and will close on March 31, 2022. League play will begin mid-April 2022. Parent/Guardian is responsible for game pants.

BASKETBALL

Her Time To Play at Woodland Heights Resource Center is committed to helping girls develop an interest in basketball through team building, practice sessions and drills. Southern Youth Sports Association Youth Basketball League Theophalis May M to SU | After 5:30 pm (Practices) $75 | Ages: 5 – 14 Build skills and confidence while learning to improve your game! Participants will learn the fundamental techniques of full court basketball in a team setting. Players will practice offensive and defensive strategies to learn the sport and will complete shooting, passing and play drills to compete against other teams. The Red Ball is a Clinic for kids to get introduced to the game of tennis and work on developing strokes and hand and eye coordination. Clinics are offered December – March.

A group clinic for kids to begin learning the rules of tennis and proper stroke development. All shots in tennis will be introduced at this level. Clinics are offered December – March.
