WE’RE ALL-IN

ON “OUT THERE.”

MORE THAN 40 YEARS AGO, A GROUP OF ANGLERS CREATED COSTA SUNGLASSES TO STAND UP TO THE HARSH LIGHT, UNFORGIVING SALT AND ROUGH CONDITIONS OF A DAY AT SEA.

The gear they made was up to the task, and it’s been on the water ever since. Today, Costa combines our superior 580 ® polarized lens technology with unparalleled fit and durability to make the highest-quality sunglasses and prescription eyewear for adventures on the water. Committed to protecting the watery world we call home, sustainability and conservation is woven throughout everything we do. From building products made of responsible materials, to Costa-owned initiatives like Kick Plastic ® and OneCoast, and our partnerships with 40+ mission-aligned conservation organizations, Costa inspires our community to help protect the planet’s resources and #SeeWhatsOutThere.

PROTECT WHAT’S

We believe crafting the highest quality lenses and frames doesn’t mean taking advantage of the world around us. We work just as hard to protect our ocean and waterways as we do to discover new ways to embrace them.

Our commitment to protecting the watery world, all while educating and empowering our brand ecosystem, is fundamental to how we approach our business.

Our team continues to identify innovative ways to reduce Costa’s environmental impacts in our products, operations and events.

WHAT’S OUT THERE.

Costa pros and ambassadors prioritize protecting the places they love to explore.

Our brand messaging advocates leaving our planet better than we found it and inspires those around us to do the same.

And we align with conservation partners who are working to protect and restore the waters we love to explore.

COSTA’S MANTRA HAS ALWAYS BEEN TO “SEE WHAT’S OUT THERE,” LEAVE NO BOXES LEFT UNCHECKED ON LIFE’S GREAT TO-DO LIST OF WATERY ADVENTURES.

THEY’RE THE BADGE OF THE EXPLORER.

PRODUCT BUILT WITH PURPOSE , WORN BY THOSE WHO ARE DRIVEN TO PROTECT.

IT’S TRUE NOW, AND IT WAS TRUE THEN: WE’LL DO ANYTHING TO STAY ON THE WATER LONGER.

And the more we experience the water and everything it has to offer, the more we’re driven to protect it.

That drive is what continues to propel us on our journey to a more sustainable future. Today, Costa’s high quality performance gear - that increasingly incorporates responsible materials * - is worn by leading conservationists, used for international marine research expeditions, and inspires Costa wearers around the world to protect what’s out there.

BREAKING DOWN

COSTA’S KICK PLASTIC® INITIATIVE

IS ABOUT REDUCING OUR USE OF SINGLE-USE PLASTICS AS A BRAND AND RAISING AWARENESS OF THE LARGER PROBLEM OF PLASTIC

POLLUTION IN AQUATIC ENVIRONMENTS.

WHAT NATURE CAN’T.

COSTA PARTNERS WITH ORGANIZATIONS THAT INSPIRE OTHERS TO REDUCE SINGLE-USE PLASTICS IN THEIR EVERYDAY LIVES.

Costa partnered with Two Conchs Bait & Tackle Shop in Marathon Key, Florida to install a filtered water station and Kick Plastic ® themed meeting space designed to inspire and engage their clients to help reduce the amount of single-use plastic going into our ocean and waterways.

Casa Vieja Lodge, located in Guatemala, installed a high-quality water filtration system and now gives each guest a reusable water bottle upon arrival. The property estimates they’ve eliminated the need for 400,000 single-use plastic bottles since 2018.

Since the launch of the Kick Plastic® Ambassador lens recycling program in 2019, participating eye care professionals have sent more than 50 tons of lenses to be recycled with Piedmont Plastics.

COSTA KICK PLASTIC® AMBASSADORS ARE FISHING CAPTAINS, GUIDES, AND OUTFITTERS AS WELL AS EYE CARE PROFESSIONALS WHO HAVE PLEDGED TO REDUCE SINGLE-USE PLASTICS IN THEIR OPERATIONS.

EVENTS

Costa strives to be mindful of the amount of single-use plastics distributed at events, and we work with organizers and venues like the Miami International Boat Show to install water stations and distribute reusable water bottles.

INITIATIVE

THOUSANDS OF COMMUNITIES. ONE COAST.

WE ARE ALL ONE COAST. IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT BODY OF WATER YOU LIVE ON OR NEAR, IT’S THE WATER THAT UNITES US.

Costa created OneCoast in response to the devastation and heartbreak from the unprecedented 2017 hurricane season, in which Harvey, Irma and Maria ravaged our coasts.

The coasts are places we ALL love to explore and PROTECT - especially in the state of Florida - where Costa was born, our brand roots run deep, and where so many of our Costa team, pros and partners call home.

OneCoast is a Costa initiative that aids coastal communities affected by natural disasters as they rebuild through direct donations, awareness and volunteering.

AN ESTABLISHED 501(C)3, WARF IS A FUND THAT PROVIDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO CAPTAINS, GUIDES AND CREW MEMBERS IN THE WAKE OF MAJOR NATURAL DISASTERS.

2023 - Maui Wildfires (Hawaii)

2024 - Hurricane Helene (Southeastern US - FL, GA, SC, NC, TN)

2024 - Hurricane Milton (Florida)

Coastal communities are truly the lifeblood of our brand. Not only are they built alongside the waters and fisheries we love to spend our days exploring, but these places are also home to a large portion of our core angling community. It’s why we work so hard to protect our coasts, to show up and bring relief to those affected by natural disasters through our OneCoast initiative, and why we established WARF in conjunction with IGFA.”

COSTA PARTNERED WITH THE INTERNATIONAL GAME FISH

THE WORLDWIDE ANGLERS RELIEF FUND (WARF).

Professional, recreational angling is often the cornerstone of local coastal economies, and the ability for these small businesses and entrepreneurs to get back on their feet after natural disasters is critical to re-establishing the cultural and financial well-being of the areas in which they operate.

To date, the WARF has distributed a total of $305,000 to recreational angling associations in Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Puerto Rico, Belize, Louisiana, The Bahamas, Montana, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Hawaii to help local captains and guides recover from natural disasters.

TBF TAG & RELEASE PROGRAM: FIRST TRANSATLANTIC WHITE MARLIN

OMAN: COSTA FILMS 4 OF A KIND

Fly fishing has brought Costa Pros Oliver White and Jako Lucas to the farthest reaches of the globe in search of countless species, uncharted waterways and adventure. The abundance of stamps in their passports may only be surpassed by that of the stories they’ve collected along the way; tales of triumph, connections and, sometimes, misadventure.

To some, it may seem that Oliver and Jako have ‘done it all’. This film debunks that notion, chronicling their quest to do something neither has yet to accomplish: complete the permit

The Billfish Foundation’s Tag & Release Program was established in 1990 and has an open-sourced billfish tagging scientific database with more than 280,000 reports from billfish tagged around the world.

In 2024 a billfish was caught off Ocean City, MD that had been originally tagged off Mohammedia, Morocco, a year earlier. Remarkably, the fish had traveled more than 4,000 nautical miles in that timeframe. This extraordinary migration marks the first time in 34 years of TBF’s Tag & Release Program that a tagged white marlin has completed such a remarkable voyage.

Costa’s conservation and sustainability initiatives, combined with the work of our non-profit partners and parent company EssilorLuxottica’s directives, support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on the following:

ESSILORLUXOTTICA SUSTAINABILITY

COSTA IS PART OF THE ESSILORLUXOTTICA GROUP, WHICH IS COMMITTED TO ADDRESSING SUSTAINABILITY AT EVERY STAGE OF ITS VALUE CHAIN, FROM ITS FOUNDATIONS TO ITS ENTIRE ECOSYSTEM OF PARTNERS, CUSTOMERS, SUPPLIERS AND LOCAL COMMUNITIES.

Sustainability is at the very heart of EssilorLuxottica, deeply embedded in its DNA and fundamental to its commitment to corporate responsibility – empowering people to ‘see more and be more’. First introduced in 2021, the Company’s Eyes on the Planet program is built on five key pillars that reinforce the strong connection between its Mission, business strategy and sustainability: Eyes on Carbon, Eyes on Circularity, Eyes on Ethics, Eyes on Inclusion and Eyes on World Sight.

ESSILORLUXOTTICA SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAM

EYES ON CIRCULARITY

EssilorLuxottica’s efforts focus on optimizing the use of resources while ensuring high product standards, with the objective to shift from fossil-based materials to bio-based and/or recycled materials and embed eco-design in all its innovation developments by end of 2025. Additional efforts include increasing internal recycling capabilities and implementing circular services to extend product life or give products a second life.

EYES ON CARBON

In 2024, EssilorLuxottica announced that its near-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets had been validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), marking a key milestone in the Company’s efforts to reduce the environmental impact across its entire value chain.

The new 2030 targets address emissions across the Company’s Scopes 1, 2 and 3, in line with the climate mitigation efforts outlined in the Paris Agreement adopted by the United Nations in 2015. EssilorLuxottica commits to reduce absolute Scopes 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030, from a 2022 base year. Additionally, the Group commits to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, fuel- and energy-related activities, upstream transportation and distribution, and waste generated in operations by 25% within the same timeframe.

EssilorLuxottica is on track to reach carbon neutrality in its scope 1 & 2 emissions (direct operations) worldwide by 2025.
