Welcome to Johnson Construction’s January 2024 newsletter These regular publications are aimed at keeping you updated with progress in the company.

We are proud to announce that Johnson Construction has been appointed the main contractor to remodel the existing boat house with the demolition of the old boat store and erection of a new two-story extension. The Riverdale Boat House is a single two-story unit with pitched tile roof elements, internally the layout is divided into two areas; the ground floor is predominantly laid out for boat storage with the First floor constructed to facilitate a new gymnasium, offices, breakout space and new changing facilities. A new metal walkway will provide a platform to the east and south elevations and a great view over the river Cam.

The new scheme will provide modern, fit-for-purpose facilities delivering against currentday standards. As part of this, the project has been designed to be highly energy efficient using the latest in integrated sustainable energy systems, helping to cut down on carbon emissions and saving on energy usage. The project will start in April and finish by the spring of 2025.

FLOOR PLANS

The building is three levels built by the river. This is a state-of-the-art building, from solar panels to a 72 inches TV in the lounge area. The roof will have an open deck with solar panels on the sides.

The main floor will have a lounge, open bar, a conference room, and a pando looking over the river. With a small bedroom for the crew of the boat. The ground floor is where the boats will stay.

Here is a rough Timeline of the construction. Timelines can and will change based on the needs of the job. We at Johnson Construction can’t wait to start this job with you. We will update you as soon as we can on the construction.

This will be the first of many boat houses we will do for the Riverdale Boat House. So let's do a great job for them, as I own we have always done.
