My 6 + years work experience as an Architect / Urban designer in Dubai, U.A.E. has been well recognised, with the nomination i n Architecture Leadership Award, 2021, U.A.E. and being selected as top 50 architects under age of 30 in India.

The Project “Visual Dislocation” aims to train a computational brain to navigate in the city based on Data and Design.

This process unfolds in two phases.

Exploratory and Conclusive.

The environment in which we live in includes social and physical factors. In the first Exploratory phase, the design research explores different sets of datasets and urban layers that have an impact on the built environment.

With comprehensive understanding, key layers/datasets are carried forward for Visuospatial Quantification.

In the second Conclusive phase of design research, using the toolkit of the neural network, the interdependencies of datasets are established and executed, to simulate the built environment.

SOCIAL MEDIA ANALYSIS

The map demonstrates the impact of Social Media impressions on the catchment area of different landmarks in London. The map highlight the social dominance and the hashtags(#) used to create the same. It is quantified that the areas such as the Oxford Street and the Hyde Park have limited social media dominance. On the contrary, The Shard and the Battersea Power Station has a much higher social media dominance due to the height of these landmarks, as these landmarks can be seen from different parts of the city.

Google Street View API’s (Application Programming Interface) provides the best platform to extract the navigable information in the form of images as observed by the user. These images are examined for visual characteristics such as brightness, hue, saturation, dominant colour, lightness, displacement of colour, etc. Increase in the number of pictures refines the datasets and the information. Pictures when analysed in clusters, presents a comprehensive understanding of the environment. They are even studied for their spatial patterns.

DIGITAL ART MUSEUM Location : Riyadh, KSA Status : Ongoing (2021) Role : Concept Design

The proposal for the Digital Art Museum, situated in the historic and architecturally significant AdDiriyah, takes into consideration the ‘local roots’. The development take cognisance of the planning principles and massing as well as the proportions and forms of the openings.

The massing is the result of generative learning, where the heights are computationally altered and calculated to create mutual shading along with the Wadi views.

•

The traditional Najd dwellings are one or two stories, with additional living space on the roof.

•

Typical houses are introverted where the house is built around one or more courtyards that are normally a pure geometrical form of either square or rectangle.

•

Roof tops were often used as terraces, but also divided and used for summer sleeping.

•

The high saw tooth parapet walls provide privacy for family members, allowing them to utilise the roofs for gathering purposes.

•

Building articulation is essential in order to achieve the angulated and organic character of Najdi architecture.

Articulation is commonly applied within traditional Najd architecture as well as a number of different of variations across façades and building footprints.

Figure 6.2 shows the typical process of how the building articulation can be done and the different methods of how the facade or building footprint can be articulated.

The formal generation of the building envelope employs a “rotate and merge” operation of the Plot, the Square Plan of the building (facing north) and a the Triangulated Roof (pointing towards Makkah).

The resultant mass is layered into distinct layers or strata that mimic the natural strata of the walls of the Wadi Hanifa. The design promotes a proportional integration between the Architectural and Nature scale.

The proposal for the Contemporary Art Museum, takes into consideration the ‘local roots’. AdDiriyah achieved international recognition and distinction with At-Turaif listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and its proximity provides direction for prestigious architecture and a high degree of creativity.

Art Museum integrates and assimilates seamlessly with the landscape. Reflecting local tradition, architecture and culturalidentity, it creates an unforgettable impact.

There is a strong requirement in the brief, for the building to be sustainable. Design proposes a carefully articulated building envelope solution to have a comfortable experience. Issues such as natural light, energy efficiency, external wall exposure to high temperature and others have been considered.

A.I. DATA CENTRE Location : Confidential Status : Proposal (2021) Role : Concept Design

For the longest time, there has existed a stigma of data centers being isolated & somewhat of a barren experience. They are highly energy consuming and an eyesore.

But the one designed here does not forget that its a part of the built realm.

It organizes its many faces towards sunlight meaning that its façade skin is designed to align to the movement of the sun, capturing the solar radiation converting it into clean energy. This is only achieved by the use of intelligent solar analysis and understanding the environmental sensitivities. Its contributions are more that just net positivity or sustainability, its beautiful to look at. Its pure circular form is as technical as it is potent.

The geometry provides a horizonal over watch to harness absolute surveillance.

The thumbnails illustrates the different scenarios during the day. The Facade Fins Expands and contracts with respect to the Sun direction and it’s movement.

CONFIDENTIAL Location : DUBAI, UAE Status : On Hold Role : Concept + Detail Design

The proposed master plan combines three key components to create a holistic ‘Live, Work & Play’ environment.

The Retail component forms the essence of the re-development by providing a unique mix of functional retail, family orientated F&B, licensed (adult) and children’s entertainment, including a four screen cinema complex as well as a public park with interactive water play areas. This component provides approximately 12,500sqm of lettable space.

The brand of Adidas stands to showcase the ultimate potential of human physicality. But here stood a chance for us to showcase Adidas itself. Thus our approach started with seeking a dynamic, energetic form which could manifest this entire brand philosophy into one idea originating from human activity. For this we incorporated generative design to initiate a series of iterations which could breed the most significant form displaying these core principles.

The design harness the use of human circulation analysis and intelligent form finding to maximise visual connections highlighting the brand. But like a proper sports analyst would talk of the statistics, we say that our methodically parametric approach yielded enormous footfall, sharp visual imagery and an idea of form which defined the brand itself.

Located along the shores of Dubai’s iconic Creek the development of Al Seef is an exciting new cultural tourism space that merges the city’s past with its present.

For this unique project it was essential that we first appreciated the extent and requirement of preserving and showcasing traditional Emirati architecture and local trades. The challenge was to design the buildings as if they had always been there withstanding the test of time through aging techniques and carefully calculated degradation percentages. Water marks, caulking and bulges in the edges all contribute to achieve this.

The conservation work of the heritage buildings in the President’s estate should guided by internationally accepted norms and philosophies as laid down in the various charters. The charters that can guide the conservation work are: Venice Charter: The charter for the conservation and restoration of monuments and sites defi nes the object of conservation is • To prolong the life of cultural heritage and if possible, • To clarify the artistic and historical messages therein without the loss of authenticity and meaning.

The grand residence of the President of India and the grounds and buildings attached to it comprise 130 hectares of land at the focal point of the monumental Central Axis at the heart of New Delhi. It was designed by Edwin Lutyens from 1912 to 1931.

The buildings in the estate have consistent symmetry, proportion, vocabulary and materials. Schedule A and B are planned symmetrically with the main avenues radiating from the roundabout.

As with the growth of any city, these nodes would eventually expand to create a continuous integrated learning community.

MASTERPLAN APPROACH: In keeping with the development of the early settlements along Wadi Hanifah, our planning approach for the MiSK School Campus master plan was to create a series of contemporary spaces that grow from the topography of the site, its close proximity to the Wadi C Park and influenced by the unique urban forms of the nearby UNESCO world heritage site. Like clusters of small communities connected by a common oasis the design and scale of the school buildings will create a versatile and inspiring learning environment for all ages.

The base Material and colour palette follow that of the Imagination & Invention Oasis however the accent colours of flooring, fabrics and acoustic paneling again deepen in tone slightly, and a differing colour palate is provided for the Boys and Girls school. The Girls school has coral tones inspired from the sunset against the desert landscape, whereas the Boys School has blue tones inspired of the blues of Wadi Hanifah, with the connecting colour of green linking to the MiSK school brand and uniform.

‘Athenaeum’ a congregational entity where the multiplication of knowledge takes place with different Medias be it the palpable or impalpable like the papyrus books or the visual interaction similar to that of what we have in a museum. This will not only cater the architectural aspect but literary and scientific development of a pupil as well for the prosperity and promotion of the user. Withal to that it lodges the students who seek to regularize their knowledge for the fruitful culmination.

The thesis is a mixed used project amalgamating: Museum, Institutional and commercial together serving for architecture under shared roof The very need of the social hub for architecture by architects would be fulfilled within the premises where the attainment of architecture would be dispatched through architects.

With the meager resources yet cactus had been responsive to the brutal climate from hot dry to dry cold by having he fibred microscopic structures that retain water and food. While the outer shell of the building that appears random at the first glimpse is the enlarged digitization of the microscopic structure of the cactus due to which its been able to adapt assertively in the desert conditions and thus vehemently the western façade bears the not so soothing sun glares the denser opaqueness and minimum transparency that does not heat up the building.
