Faithful to our name it has sometimes been a wild ride but now, in our mid twenties and as a part of one of the most progressive european manufacturer, we feel young and ready to bring things to a higher level. Besides the many tweaks on virtually every model the biggest news of the upcoming season is the completely reworked frame for eBlizzard and eBlizz models. The advanced, laser-cutted down tube will be also a base for a wide array of future Rock Machine models. For the year 2020 we are also introducing Darfon, our new batteries and chargers supplier.
Sure, at Rock Machine we aren‘t reinventing the wheel. But we simply love to ride and we naturally strive to make better products because we ride them too. From the top of the line Blizzard ERZ to Catherine e70-29 our new e-collection is all set for the outing. See you there!

LEGS AND WAT TS SOME SAY BLOODY WAT TS, but what makes you go out for a ride? For many of us the reasons are still the same: having fun outdoors, working up a sweat, enjoying freedom and great sceneries or just outsmarting the rush hour traffic. So rather than only as a convenience during those uphill battles, we see an e-bike as the optimum way to enhance the fun factor. At Rock Machine we are building e-bikes that are the exact counterparts of their regular brethren with the same geometry and ready for the same playground. You‘ll still need to spin your legs but trust us: with those bloody watts in the down tube your riding experience will be amplified to a whole new dimension.

PH ASE T WO W IT H T H E BAT T ERY PACKS getting smaller we have had the opportunity to rework our frames. The task was simple: lighter, stiffer, sleeker. By utilizing CAD simulations and high-end manufacturing methods such as laser cutting and robotic welding we were able to save 45% in volume of the down tube and 1.1 kg in weight on the entire frame assembly while the overall torsional stiffness is even better than the previous solution. Combined with the super-sensible FPS linkage and short chainstays the next generation of electric assisted Blizzards is the real deal. Heavy testing is a part of the development process but nothing can compare to racing conditions. The first gen model won the first official European e-race at Lago di Garda, Italy one year ago. Today, after finishing first legs of the World e-Bike Series we are confident that this generation will be more than a dignified successor.

THE CL ASH T H E T H I R D OL D EST car manufacturer, Tatra has been known for its original truck solutions, ability to work in the most extreme conditions, multiple Dakar victories and most recently for its defense industry program. For our products to go head to head first looked a bit crazy but since our factory resides next to Tatra‘s plant it was eventually quite a natural idea. We took a brand new Blizzard ERZ to see what would happen when we put it against the T-815 cargo/troop carrier on Tatra‘s home soil - the factory polygon. Shimano Steps E8000 equipped Blizzard with Rock Machine factory rider Vojta Bláha behind the bars vs. 10,500 kg all-wheel drive dirt monster on a track that reveals all the weaknesses. 45 degrees ascent, wet surface, irregular bumps, you name it. SHIMANO STEPS S HIM A NO B IKE C O MP O N E N TS have a long-standing reputation for durability and high performance and their e-bike systems are no exception. For Rock Machine, one of the important factors for choosing Shimano was that the units are designed not only with the raw power in mind. Thanks to ingenious Steps drive unit construction our e-bike frames have almost the identical chainstay lenght as their non-assisted twins which means a similar riding experience. And it has the typical Q factor for MTBs (the distance between the cranks) for the most efficient pedal stroke. Compact design harmonizes beautifully with the frame while the most powerful E8000 unit weighs only 2,88 kg which results in to a great bike handling. As you may expect the system set-up can be customized via Bluetooth and Shimano native app or it can be connected wirelessly to one of the third-party displays by Garmin or Sigma. New eBlizzard and eBlizz will again rely on Shimano Steps drive units and SharkSpine EVO tube sets. However for 2020 we completely redesigned the down tube in the name of higher stiffness, lower weight and a better look. Four different configs with racing-ready ERZ on the top accompanied by two Blizz hardtail models for that some of that good hardcore trail chasing.

Rock Machine unlike some other manufacturers relies, beside on the proven Shimano units, on its own e-bike system. By using our in-house e-bike concept our engineers were able to design frames right from the scratch around the drive units while the units were optimized during the co-ordinated development. The result is a unique line of e-bikes which are ready to make your life on two wheels easier no matter if it‘s daily commuting or a multi-day bike trip.

SPORTDRIVE J US T L IK E TH E H UMAN H E ART a motor is the most important part of the e-bike, so it was the Sport Drive - the battery and the motor that defined the ideal shape of the frame built around it. Powered by the creativity of a Dutch designers and bike specialists in Koprivnice, CZ, the Sport Drive system and frame have developed: user-friendly blend of technology and aesthetics that can only be achieved by a true e-bike lovers. Deeply involved engineers at the BFI knows the various needs for various cyclists and in Rock Machine we are using two different versions of the concept: one with the motor in the middle and one with the motor in the rear hub. New for the upcoming season there is the possibility to setup individual user configurations of the system depending on the riders needs and riding style. There are 3 riding modes of torque sensor sensitivity which affect the level of the support and desired range. The configuration can be changed at the authorized Rock Machine service partner.
