Hello again!
The last few years have been challenging for us, as I’m sure they have been for you as well. In December of 2019 I met with two trusted friends to plan what was sure to be our best year yet, 2020! But the universe had other ideas. Covid, lockdown, a husband who works in the emergency department, having our second child while wearing a mask, paper shortages and creative burnout took their toll. Giving myself some time to recharge and learn how to find balance brings me back to this space with more intention and a new look!
I’m proud to introduce you to our new collections of cards, calendars, and stationery sets. I’ve missed you and I’m glad to be back!

printing, Packaging, and paper
All designs are letterpress printed unless otherwise noted. Items are packaged in cellophane sleeve or kraft boxes and must be sold as packaged. Boxed sets may not be split up. Boxes are only available as thank you and holiday. Cards are packaged with kraft or coordinating envelopes. We print on 110lb Crane’s Lettra, 120lb Mohawk Superfine, and 100lb French Paper.
Minimums
The minimum opening order is $150. Minimum reorders are $100. Minimum order of 6 per design for single cards and 4 per design for all other items.
Payment
Orders ship prepay by check or credit card. Returned checks subject to $20 fee. After the initial order Net 30 terms are available to accounts in good standing with a credit sheet.
turnaround & Shipping
Orders ship within 5-7 days unless a specific ship date is provided, though we do try to ship sooner. All orders are shipped via FedEx Ground or USPS within the continental US. Up to $400: +$15, $400 and over: +$20. International shipping charges will be assessed by the weight of your order. We send tracking info via email as long as we have an email address on file for you.
Returns
We cannot accept returns unless the merchandise is defective. Claims must be made within three business days of receipt of goods. Orders cancelled three days or more after placement will be charged a 15% restocking fee.
Our Environmental Practices
We are committed to using environmentally conscious studio practices. We use rubber-based inks and biodegradable citrus-based solvents for press clean up. We proudly reuse clean shipping materials when possible, recycle all packaging waste and paper scraps, and use the same registration sheets for press set-up until they can be recyled.
About Pistachio Press
The beginning
Pistachio Press is a print and design studio located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The press was officially launched during the summer of 2007, though it had been functioning informally since 2003 when founder Rachael Hetzel drove 400 miles to buy her first letterpress. Pistachio Press now prints heirloom quality greeting cards and paper products in addition to fine social stationery.
About the presses
We print on our two trusty Vandercook’s, two Heidelberg Windmill’s, and a small Sigwalt platen press. Just like people, the presses have their own personalities and quirks. And that’s exactly how we like them!
Meet Rachael
Owner Rachael grew up reading books in the woods of a small town in upstate New York. Her love of printed ephemera led her to complete BFA and MFA degrees in printmaking, which only fueled her passion for paper, ink, design, and heavy equipment. Letterpress printing just felt right. When she isn’t printing, Rachael likes go on adventures with her two kids, cook elaborate meals with her husband, and cuddle with Wilma, their dopey golden doodle.
