I’m happy to introduce you to my signature menu showcasing Cambodia’s rich culinary heritage.

I grew up surrounded by fresh produce and eating delicious food. My mother had a vegetable stall at the wet market and I would sometimes help her prepare and sell fresh ingredients.

I remember very clearly when I first fell in love with cooking. When I was four years old, a neighbor from our village helped to look after me and my siblings. She taught me how to make chicken rice porridge with ginger and Kampot Pepper. I remember being amazed that such a young girl could create something so delicious. I was hooked and the adventure began.

Throughout my life I wondered why Khmer cuisine was not as celebrated as other cuisines. I wanted to uncover the secrets of our unique recipes and techniques. I went looking for literature and research on the subject and couldn’t find anything.

So, in 2017, I decided that if I wanted Khmer cuisine to be elevated to the world stage I would need to take on the challenge myself. I decided to drop everything and opened my house to the public to eat our home-cooked food and started researching our traditional recipes.

So far, my research has found over 200 Khmer recipes. Of these, almost 80 are presented in my first book, Nhum – Recipes from a Cambodian Kitchen, and today on this menu you can enjoy 12 of the best that I have worked with the Rosewood Phnom Penh culinary team to prepare for you.

I believe that Khmer food is delicious, unique and helps to protect our culture as we move confidently into the future. I hope through this menu you will agree with me.
