COMPETING ACROSS BORDERS From the time he could walk, Spencer Robson of Lucan Ontario, Canada loved two things. Being in the barn working cattle with his dad and spending as much time as he could around horses. “When I was little I went to the farm show with my dad,” said Robson. “They had a huge draft horse that no one could pull me away from and thats kind of how everyone knew I loved horses.” According to Robson, when his mom took lessons he was brought along for the ride. Although learning the fundamentals of Horsemanship was fun, Robson had a passion for going fast. “I’ve been training with Chanda Burke ever since I was four,” said Robson. “I owe a lot to her, I get to travel and compete in rodeo circuits on the weekends and my goal, is to one day compete in the Calgary Stampede.” Robson makes his runs on DDD PAINTED SMILE, known as “Roxy,” who is 12-years-old. “Roxy loves to go fast and put in work,” said Robson. “We’ve put a lot of hours in the saddle to come here and compete.”
Robson said the drive from Canada was long, but he is already planning to come back and compete next year. “I owe this whole trip to my parents, Triple D and my trainer,” said Robson. “You just have to try your hardest and love what you do.”
