Developed to build confidence in creating safer, inclusive and welcoming environments for LGBTQIA+ people, Curious Arts and Northern Pride’s Proud Allies Training is an accessible, informative and interactive learning experience designed to increase awareness and understanding of intersectional LGBTQIA+ communities, our culture and lived experiences.
Proud Allies training is suitable for all professionals committed to championing LGBTQIA+, equality and inclusion, with benefits for those working in public facing roles, customer service, marketing, HR, policy makers, focus group and network leads, management teams, board members and trustees.
Informed, designed and developed by a representative team of LGBTQIA+ professionals and community members with lived experience, our Proud Allies training can be delivered in-person or online, for a small team to an entire company.

We’ve been delivering Proud Allies training courses for over 5 years, to over 2000 people across 7 countries. Providing a learning experience that increases confidence in supporting and advocating for LGBTQIA+ people and the community.

From your initial booking enquiry, our training team will guide you on your learning journey, maintaining regular contact and sending a pre-course survey to assess your current knowledge before the training session.
Our 3-hour training sessions provide insights into the lives of LGBTQIA+ people globally, equipping you with key tools and knowledge to actively support your allyship from the day of the session onward. Together, we’ll explore:
• LGBTQIA+ 101: Understanding acronyms and inclusive language.
• Attraction: Differentiating between sexual and romantic attraction.
• Gender Identity and Expression: Recognising their empowering potential.
• Intersectionality: Understanding considerations and challenges around the layers of identity.
• LGBTQIA+ History and Rights: Examining how legislation and activism create safer spaces.
• Supporting LGBTQIA+ People in the Workplace: Identifying quick wins and long-term actions to enhance empowerment and allyship.
Participants will gain access to valuable resources and further reading to continue their learning journey. We also share group pledges to foster change, and all attendees will receive a certificate of attendance to display with pride.
Proud Allies training is equipping organisations with positive and effective tools so they can create inclusive environments that make the region a safe and welcoming place to live, visit and do business
Our training is available for groups from 8 to 16 with bespoke packages offered for larger groups including conference style presentations. Training can be delivered in person or via Zoom using interactive tools to bring the training to life. Morning, afternoon and evening sessions available throughout the year.
From £1100+VAT for up to 16 people (minimum of 8 participants in order to run a course)

Opting for bespoke delivery that allowed for an open & positive learning experience which recognised our position as a Europe wide team by providing us with custom made materials for those outside of the UK
If training delivery is in person and outside of the North East, an additional travel and accommodation cost will apply.
