GENERAL INFORMATION 1. During the exam schedule, students should report only for periods in which they have an exam. Any student not taking an exam, and who wishes to stay on campus, must be in the Shepard Cafeteria or the Library. 2. No students will be allowed into an exam late unless they have a pass from the appropriate attendance office. If a student arrives more than 10 minutes late, the student must make arrangements with the teacher to take the exam during a make-up period on the same day. 3. Students in double-period classes will report to the first session only and take the exam during that session. 4. Students who miss an exam will receive a zero for the exam unless: (1) the appropriate attendance office is notified IN ADVANCE that the student will be absent AND (2) the absence is for a legitimate reason. If a student is legitimately unable to take an exam prior to the closing of grades, an incomplete will be assigned, and the exam must be made-up within a two-week period. THIS MUST HAVE ADVANCED NOTIFICATION AND APPROVAL!! PLEASE CALL THE APPROPRIATE ATTENDANCE OFFICE. 5. When students are arriving for or leaving a final exam, they need to remember that there are other exams in progress, and movements on and off campus should be quick and quiet. We will not tolerate large groups of students congregating in the parking lots, on Pinkerton St. or North Main St. Students should be considerate of motorists and residents who live nearby, and should give due respect to their rights and property. 6. Breakfast will be available for ALL students in the Academy Café from 6:30-7:30. No lunches will be served in any of the cafeterias during exam days; students should plan to bring their own if remaining for a make-up exam. NO FOOD IS ALLOWED IN THE TESTING ROOMS. 7. All students taking exams MUST REMAIN IN THE TESTING ROOM FOR THE ENTIRE PERIOD. 8. All administrative detentions must be served BEFORE students are permitted to take their exams. Students may be required to serve owed detentions during a testing period. 9. Bus transportation will depart at 11:10AM on exam days. If a student remains for a make-up exam, they will have to provide their own transportation. Only students with parking permits may park on campus during exams. 10. MISSED EXAMS- Students who miss exams and have make-up permission, must arrange with their teachers to do so. COURSE COMPETENCIES- Students should use time after exams to complete or make-up any failed or missed competencies. STUDENTS ARE PERMITTED TO TURN IN COMPETENCIES UNTIL THE FINAL DAY OF THE SEMESTER, WHICH INCLUDES EXAM DAYS. Students must schedule an appointment for Competency Completion with their teachers prior to last day of exams. 11. Students in semester classes should turn in all books and other school materials to their teacher prior to taking exams. 12. School Cancellation- If in the event we need to close school due to bad weather, on the day that we return to school, we will be taking the day of exams that we had missed, and the remaining days will follow as usual. 13. Students changing exam periods- If you are going to allow a student to change the period for an exam and the student is special education, you must first get approval from the Special Education Department, as this creates coverage problems with paraprofessionals and resource rooms. 14. Delayed Opening- If we have a delayed opening, buses will pick-up students 90 minutes later than they normally do and arrive at the school at 8:45AM; then the schedule below will be followed: 1st Exam Period 9:00 - 10:30A 2nd Exam Period 11:00 - 12:30 (Buses leave at 12:40P.) If the delay is on a make-up day, the Make-up Exam Period will be: 12:40 - 2:10P. ST / EXAMS JAN
