Florence Community Services Activity Guide

A LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR

Aswe welcome the beautiful spring season in Florence, our Community Services Department continues to prioritize professional development, which directly enhances the programs, services, and facilities we offer to our residents. Our team’s commitment to Professional Development learning ensures that we bring the latest trends and innovations back to Florence to improve your recreation experience.

Recently, our Library staff attended the Arizona Library Association Annual Conference, where they explored exciting programming trends for youth and teens. This knowledge will help us deliver fresh, engaging activities for our younger residents. Our Maintenance team is also preparing for the installation of brand-new playgrounds at Heritage Park, featuring ADA-accessible surfacing and inclusive play equipment, providing a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for children of all abilities.

In addition, our Recreation staff returned from the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association Conference with new insights on managing parks and recreation facilities. These best practices will support ongoing projects like our ballfield renovations and help us continue to provide high-quality spaces for outdoor activities.

Spring is also the perfect time to explore our

community in fresh, creative ways! Our “Insta”worthy murals by the Florence Aquatic Center and Padilla Park offer the perfect backdrop for a spring selfie. And for those tackling spring cleaning or trying out new hobbies, don’t forget to check out our Library of Things. From power washers to bread makers, disc slam sets to metal detectors, we have tools and games to help you enjoy the season. Finally, for anyone looking to grow something fresh this season, the Viney Jones Library’s Seed Library offers everything you need to start your own garden, whether you’re growing flowers or food.

As always, we’re grateful for your participation and support. Your involvement makes our community vibrant, and we look forward to seeing you at our spring programs and events!

Thank you for being a vital part of our journey!
