Florence Community Services Activity Guide

A LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR

Dear Florence Community,
As summer winds down and a new season begins, the Community Services Department is proud to reflect on the progress we’ve made, and even more excited about what lies ahead. Our mission is to provide our community with exceptional experiences that create lasting memories, and everything we do is guided by that commitment.
Over the past year, our team has worked hard to enhance parks, facilities, and programs across Florence. Thanks to that dedication, we’ve completed a number of key projects, including:
At Jason Lopez Memorial Park (formerly Heritage Park):
• Two new shaded, ADA-certified playgrounds for ages 2–5 and 5–12
• Upgraded ADA restrooms, parking lots, and improved amenity access
• New scoreboards at the ballfields
At other Town facilities:
• Bottle fillers and water fountains at multiple recreation sites
• New tables and a fully upgraded audio/visual system at the Florence Community Center

• Road improvements at Florence Memorial Park
• Fence repairs and replacements in various parks
• New equipment for the Parks Division to support higher standards of care
Looking ahead, we’re excited to begin several new improvement projects, including:
• Replastering of the Aquatic Center pool
• Improvement planning for Jason Lopez Memorial Park and Main Street Park
• Leveling and renovation of the Aquatic Center multipurpose fields
• New signage at all Town parks and trail facilities
While these projects improve the spaces we share, they also reflect something bigger—our belief that a vibrant, welcoming community is built through continued investment in the people and places that bring us together.
As you explore this season’s activity guide, I hope you’ll find something new to enjoy. Whether it’s a class, a program, or a community event, there’s something for everyone—and we look forward to seeing you out and about this fall.
Wishing you a wonderful and active season,
Paul
