Welcome to our 4th Annual Dancing for our Stars! We are glad that you are able to join us tonight. Over the past few months, I have had the opportunity to see a few pictures and videos of each of our dance teams practicing, and let me tell you tonight is going to be a great night!
If you asked any of our nine celebrities why they subjected themselves to all of the practices and rehearsals, and ultimately why they agreed to dance tonight, they would all give you some variation of the same answer: “It all for the kids!” I hope you remember that tonight as well (especially as you consider voting for your favorite dance teams!).
Some of these dances will make you laugh. Some may make you cry (for good reasons). And some might make you want to dance – we have already started recruiting dancers for next years event. Each of these dancers is here tonight because they want to help our organization have a positive impact on the lives of the youth that we serve, even if it pushes them out of their comfort zone. Our organization is already better off because of their involvement in this event.
So as you enjoy tonight’s event, I hope that you will stand up and applaud wildly and often. I hope that you will help us recognize these dancers for their bravery and vulnerability. I hope that you will help us celebrate their skill and technique. But most of all, I hope that you will join us in appreciating their efforts to make our community a better place for children. We hope you enjoy the show!

In Arizona, more than 500,000 children are on their own after school and kids who do not have somewhere safe to go after school are more likely to engage in risky behavior or become victims of crime. We know that meaningful after school programs inspire kids to learn, support kids’ social and emotional well-being and supports families. We firmly believe that every child deserves to learn, grow and thrive in a safe and supportive environment without a series of roadblocks on their quest for success.
Our philosophy is never turning away a child due to their family’s financial situation. The fees collected only cover 15% of our expenses; we rely on governmental and grant assistance, fundraising events, and business and individual donations to operate our clubs. We are committed to fulfilling our mission to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens with programs for:
Academic Success: We want all of our members to graduate from high school ready for college, trade school, military service or employment.
Good Character & Citizenship: We want all of our members to be engaged citizens who are involved in their communities and who model strong character.
Healthy Lifestyles: We want all members to adopt a healthy diet, to practice healthy lifestyle choices and to make a lifetime commitment to fitness.
This is in line with and affirms our Mission and Vision of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sun Corridor. We dance because “GREAT FUTURES START HERE”.
Our Mission:
“To inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.”
Our Vision:
“To focus resources and efforts in our growing communities through partnerships with other organizations that share our vision and mission to provide a safe, fun and positive place for kids.”

Born and raised in Buckeye, Arizona, Rusty Akers is a proud graduate of Buckeye High School and holds a BA in Business Management from Anderson University in Indiana. His professional journey led him to his current role as pastor of Community of Hope Church in Maricopa, a calling that allows him to connect with people locally and globally while living his passion for serving
Rusty has been married to his wife, Lisa, for 37 years, and together they’ve raised two children, Sydnee (29) and Grady (25). They are now proud grandparents to Olivia (2) and Evan (1).
Rusty is deeply involved in the Maricopa community, hosting events such as Easter celebrations, Christmas programs, and food truck gatherings. He serves on several local boards (including the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sun Corridor), flips burgers at Maricopa High School games, and works as a chaplain for the Maricopa Fire Department. His passion for service extends beyond borders; he has helped found mission groups in Rocky Point, Mexico, and supported the development of a community in Asilong, Kenya, which now includes a school and two churches.
A fun fact? Rusty played quarterback during his senior year of high school and once traded Bermuda grass seed worldwide. When asked why he’s dancing, he laughs, saying, “Because Patti made me!” But it’s all for a good cause: the kids. Rusty’s goal isn’t just to perform but to raise the most money while having fun.
Rusty’s life philosophy is inspired by John 10:10: “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the fullest.” For him, that means serving, connecting, and living life with joy—on and off the dance floor!
Alyssa Mangum has been the owner and instructor of Alyssa’s Little Dancers for 15 years. Growing up in a small-town dance studio, Alyssa learned early on the value of community in fostering young talent, a passion that led her to join this event as a Professional Dancer. Now in her second year participating, Alyssa feels strongly about the impact it has on the youth, saying, “When it comes to the youth, I am all in.” Her love for performing and a “never-say-no” attitude toward dance opportunities only add to her excitement.
Throughout her career, Alyssa has trained and performed with renowned companies and choreographers, including David Taylor Dance Theater of Denver, San Francisco Ballet, New York City International Ballet, and jazz legends Frank Hatchett and Joe Tremaine. She brings this wealth of experience and diversity in style to her students, offering them a comprehensive and inspiring approach to dance.
Fun fact: Alyssa has a unique love-hate relationship with feet. “They’re dirty and gross if they’re out wandering. If they’re in shoes and beautifully pointed, then they’re safe,” she says with a laugh. With her team’s dazzling footwear and dance prowess, Alyssa is ready to give it her all in the quest for the mirror ball!
From cultural celebrations and community gatherings to new opportunities and honored traditions, join us in keeping our communities vibrant and Arizona’s future bright.
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Priscilla Behnke (nicknamed Pris) brings a wealth of passion and experience to our community. She graduated from Ulysses S. Grant High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in social work from Warner Pacific College. Her journey took a transformative turn when she co-founded Be Awesome, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing confident, connected, and successful youth through mentorship, education, and community engagement. After years of working with families and kids in crisis, Priscilla shifted her focus to prevention, where she now focuses on empowering young people rather than “fixing” them, a mission she considers a true labor of love.
Priscilla is married to Kevin Behnke, a global freight pilot, and they share two sons. Aiden, 17, is set on becoming a pastor, while Kitt, 10, brings his own unique energy to the family. Balancing family life with community work, Priscilla remains deeply involved with Be Awesome, partnering with organizations like Boys & Girls Clubs and working on local committees like 347facts.com to strengthen family and community support.
Fun facts: Priscilla admits she once struggled with math, only to find it indispensable in her career today. She also wrote to Bryan Adams in middle school asking to be adopted, enjoys researching Genesis Six and UFOs, and, despite having initially avoided advanced English classes, now writes grant proposals extensively.
When asked why she agreed to dance for this event, Priscilla jokingly credits Patti’s “blackmail” tactics. Her biggest fear is not winning, but the thrill of buying new dresses sweetens the experience. More importantly, Priscilla recalls her first time working with the Boys & Girls Club during the COVID reopening, witnessing the community’s resilience as kids supported one another through loss. This memory fuels her dedication to fundraising, ensuring the youth of Maricopa continue to experience strong, meaningful connections.
In her childhood, Priscilla once dreamed of defending salmon as an environmental lawyer and even becoming the first female president. Today, her dreams have shifted to supporting youth and families— though she still laughs about being recognized as “the drug lady” in stores due to her substance abuse prevention work in schools! Priscilla is sure to “Be Awesome”!
Daniel Kent has been teaching dance for over 20 years and coaching teams along the way. In 2015, he took ownership of The Studio of Dance after the previous owner retired, growing it to triple its original size. Daniel has been involved with Dancing for Our Stars since its inception, pairing professional dancers with celebrities and participating as a cast member each season. He believes strongly in supporting programs that uplift youth, saying, “Better programs for our youth equal a better future for them and our community.” Helping the Boys & Girls Club is a cause close to his heart, and his love for performing on stage is a bonus. In Season 3, Daniel and his partner, Jennifer Korsten, won the Showstopper Award!
Daniel’s dance journey began at age 12, and he soon became an International Latin ballroom competitor, earning the distinction of being a two-time national finalist in the Youth Open Latin division. His training also includes Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Dance Education, rounding out his expertise.
Daniel and his wife, Amber, are proud parents to five children, ages 6 to 17. Outside the studio, he enjoys snowboarding, golfing, and traveling with his family. This year, Daniel and his partner are determined to claim the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy!
Amy Breitkreitz-Powell, born in Worcester, Massachusetts, has called Casa Grande her hometown since 1979. Having attended Casa Grande schools from kindergarten through 12th grade, she proudly graduated from Casa Grande Union High School in 1995. Amy later earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration with minors in social work and psychology from Ashford University (now the University of Arizona Global Campus) in 2018. Although she lived in California and Tempe for a time, Amy returned to Casa Grande to raise her son near family and in the community she loves.
Today, Amy is the Market Manager for Employbridge’s South Central Arizona Market, overseeing staffing efforts across Casa Grande, Nogales, Tempe, and Tucson. Employbridge is the nation’s largest industrial staffing provider, placing nearly half a million people in jobs each year. Amy finds deep satisfaction in her work, especially in helping people find employment that may turn into life-changing careers. Supported by an incredible team, Amy feels that her work is truly a “work of heart.”
In 2021, Amy married Nathan Powell, blending their families into one filled with love and laughter. Together, they have five adult children: Tripp, 20, and her four bonus sons, Cole, 28; Cael, 23; Cade, 22; and Curt, 18. Their home is rounded out by three cherished fur babies—BB, Olive, and Bama.
Passionate about giving back, Amy serves as Vice Chair on the Casa Grande Alliance Board of Directors and is active with Power of 100 Women, Friends of the Valley Humane Society, and volunteers with Casa Grande Union High School District and Imagine Prep Coolidge. Her volunteerism is fueled by a desire to contribute to the community that has enriched her life.
A fun fact? Though Amy once feared the stage, in 2017, she bravely took an Adult Tap class to dance alongside her talented sister. Despite her limited coordination, she loved the experience and is thrilled to dance again, this time supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sun Corridor. While nervous about performing, Amy’s excitement about sharing the stage with her sister and giving back to a cause she believes in shines through.
Casa Grande native Corrie lives with her husband, Matthew, and their three sons, Gavin, Noah, and Colin. Her dance journey began under Marsha Hindman and Pamela Rau, and she later expanded her training in tap, ballet, and jazz at ASU, where she earned a B.A. in Early Childhood Education. Corrie’s passion for teaching led her to a seven-year career as an elementary school teacher in Pinal County. Today, she wears many hats: homeschooling her sons, teaching tap for the past 14 years at The Studio a School of Dance, and leading a weekly homeschool group class.
Corrie’s deep connection with the Casa Grande Boys & Girls Club spans years; she worked there in college, supporting kids in the art room, game room, and beyond. As a former staff member, she understands the club’s vital role in offering kids a safe, supportive space to grow. This connection brought her back as a dance professional for this event, where she’s thrilled to help raise funds for an organization that nurtures future leaders in the community.
With a lifetime of dance experience and a commitment to youth, Corrie brings passion and purpose to each step on and off the dance floor.
Casa Grande native Jesus J. Castellanos, known by friends and family as Javier, graduated from Casa Grande Union High School in 1999. He pursued further education at Central Arizona College and the Institute of Cleaning and Restoration. Today, Javier is the proud owner of Castellanos CleanPro & Restoration, a family-owned business that he’s passionate about for its everevolving challenges. In this fast-paced industry, Javier finds joy in learning, adapting, and meeting new people, all while delivering quality service to his community.
Javier’s family is his greatest pride. His wife, Shrina Mejia Castellanos, is his strongest supporter, and they share five children— Dominick (13), Matt (20), JJ (25), Dru (7), and Rhiyanna (16)—along with Lulu, their beloved French bulldog. Balancing family life and a busy career, Javier also makes time to give back to his community, offering cleaning giveaways and mentoring other local business owners in the cleaning and restoration industry.
A lesser-known fact about Javier is his five-year background in traditional Mexican dance, where he performed across Arizona—a true testament to his adventurous spirit! He’s excited to participate in this event as a way to support the Boys & Girls Club, an organization that has been significant in his kids’ lives. Javier is ready to step outside his comfort zone, learn new dance moves, and help raise funds for a cause close to his heart.
As a young man, Javier dreamed of joining the military and owning his own business. Today, he’s living that dream of entrepreneurship, likening his fast-paced days to “mountain biking with no brakes.” He approaches both his work and this event with enthusiasm, grateful for the chance to make an impact on his community.
Returning dance professional Krisenna Hancock has been a dedicated part of the Dancing for Our Stars event since its first season, and each year has been a remarkable experience. A two-time Mirror Ball winner, Krisenna shared, “I love the mission of the Boys & Girls Club, and I’ve been inspired by the passion, hard work, and dedication of everyone involved.” With a lifetime of dance experience starting at age three, Krisenna brings expertise in gymnastics, tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballet, and ballroom—skills that have all shaped her career. Today, she serves as a World Dance and vocal instructor, directs the Amethyst World Dance Company, and produces the Amethyst Dance
In addition to her dance career, Krisenna owns Tiara Connection, an online shop specializing in sashes and crowns. As a wife and mother, she balances her commitments with roles as a board member for the Blackbox Theater and a vocalist with the Fred Cap Band.
Fun fact: Krisenna once appeared as a judge on TLC’s Toddlers and Tiaras. Whether this year’s prize is a Mirror Ball trophy or a sparkling tiara, Krisenna and her partner are set to give it their all!
Born in New York City, Annie Giagni spent her early childhood there before moving to the vibrant beaches of West Los Angeles. She attended Santa Monica High School and later pursued her first degree at the University of Oregon, where she balanced academics in human physiology with competing in water polo. In 2015, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kentucky Christian University while working as a correctional officer at a rural county jail.
Annie is now a registered nurse and serves as the Chief Nursing Officer at Exceptional Community Hospital Maricopa. She finds joy in the ever-evolving nature of nursing and the many opportunities it offers to make an impact. She’s passionate about building relationships with patients, staff, and the community, and loves seeing her work make a difference.
Annie and her husband, Ryan Baker, are raising two children, Benjamin (8) and Madelyn (5), along with their energetic golden doodle, Utah (named after Point Break). Annie stays active in Maricopa, volunteering as a youth soccer coach, serving on the community board for Boys & Girls Clubs, and representing hospitals on the Board of Governors for Arizona Emergency Medical Systems (AEMS).
Fun facts? Annie once worked as a surfing instructor and spent two years as a deputy jailer while attending nursing school. She’s a former water polo player with dreams of becoming a professional athlete, which she channels now into supporting her
Annie agreed to dance to support Boys & Girls Clubs, a program close to her heart, as her own children have participated in their summer programs. While stage fright is her biggest fear, she has loved spending time with her dad and learning to dance. Helping the community while having fun has made this experience
Daniel “DJ” Giagni, born and raised in New York City, discovered his passion for the arts early. After graduating from Baldwin High School and the Manhattan School of Music’s Preparatory Program, he trained at the American Ballet Theatre School, launching a Broadway career as a dancer and choreographer before transitioning to business as a general contractor.
Married to his wife, Pamela, for 45 years, Daniel has two children, Dylan and Annie, and two grandchildren, Benjamin and Madelyn. He remains active in dance as a choreographer for the Province Town Hall Tappers and previously taught tap locally. Currently, he’s building a log cabin in Forest Lakes, Arizona, with his son.
Daniel’s fun side shines in his love for music and cruising town in his 1931 Model A Ford Woody Station Wagon, Ollie. He agreed to dance to support the Boys & Girls Clubs, inspired by his grandchildren’s involvement and a desire to give back. A favorite career highlight? Teaching Steve Martin to tap for Pennies from Heaven, a memorable chapter in a life full of creativity and connection.
Born and raised in Cascade, Iowa, Karen Kramarczyk is a proud graduate of Cascade Schools and the University of Iowa, where I earned a BA in Biology and later a DDS from the College of Dentistry. My passion for dentistry began early, and by junior year of high school, I knew I wanted a career in the field. Initially, I planned to be a dental hygienist, but my softball coach challenged me with a simple question: “Why not a dentist?” That question changed the course of my life.
I enlisted in the Army National Guard at 17, training as a dental assistant and technician. I was later commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant while attending dental school. These experiences shaped my commitment to providing informative and compassionate care. As a family dentist, I’ve been privileged to watch my patients grow, from children into adults who now bring their own kids to see me.
My husband, Jeff, and I have been married for 24 years and moved to Maricopa, Arizona, in 2004. We raised three children who thrived in MUSD schools and participated in everything from track to school dances. We’ve loved growing up alongside this city, benefiting from the incredible teachers, coaches, and first responders who make Maricopa special.
Fun facts? I’m left-handed when writing or drilling but play sports righthanded. I once held my high school’s softball records for most innings pitched and most walks given up in a season. Oh, and I’ve had a phonological processing error my whole life, so there are three words I can’t tell apart— but Jeff keeps me laughing about it.
I agreed to dance because of the inspiring dancers who’ve come before me. While I’m terrified of falling off the stage (and knocking out my teeth), I’m thrilled to support such an important cause. Plus, I can’t let Dr. Mitchell be the funniest one in the room!
Allison Cruz, known to her friends as Ally, is a vibrant 27-year-old artist with a lifelong passion for the performing arts. Growing up in a large family, Ally’s love for creativity began at a young age. She fell in love with dance at just three years old and has dedicated herself to it ever since. A lover of all things performing—whether it’s dance, singing, theatre, or musicals—Ally has found a home within Alyssa’s Little Dancers and the Dancing for Our Stars community, where she keeps her dreams alive and shares her passion with others.
Ally is also a certified makeup artist and finds joy in painting and writing as ways to decompress in her spare time. While she shines on stage, she admits to being a little shy with public speaking, but her enthusiasm and dedication always win out. After joining last year’s event as an extra, Ally fell in love with the energy and purpose of this performance. She’s thrilled to be back this year in a bigger role, ready to share her passion and excitement with the audience.
Born in Belleville, Illinois, and raised in rural Illinois, Denee Kramer has always valued hard work and community. After attending Fisher High School for most of her education, she moved to Casa Grande during her senior year, where her mother started an insurance agency. Inspired by her mother’s career, Denee found her passion in the insurance industry, which ultimately led her to become the proud owner of the Denee Hobbs Kramer Agency - American Family Insurance in Casa Grande. Her work focuses on helping people protect their families, homes, cars, businesses, and dreams. Treating her clients like family and making a positive impact during their toughest times is what drives her every day.
Denee is happily married to Casa Grande native Brian Kramer. Together, they have three wonderful children—Lilliana, Isabella, and Bennett—and a golden doodle named Harley who keeps the household lively.
An active community member, Denee serves on the boards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sun Corridor and Casa Grande Silent Witness. She is passionate about supporting programs that positively impact children and families, making Casa Grande a stronger community.
Fun fact: Denee grew up competing in rodeo events, including barrel racing, breakaway, and team roping. She even qualified for the High School National Finals Rodeo in team roping.
Denee agreed to participate in Dancing for Our Stars because of her passion for supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs, an organization that provides invaluable opportunities for youth. Although stepping onto the dance floor is outside her comfort zone, she’s excited to support a great cause.
Her lifelong career goal? To protect dreams and support others, a mission she’s carried with her since she was seven and dreamed of becoming President of American Family Insurance.
Amy Flasher, a proud Casa Grande native, has channeled her passion for education and dance into a vibrant career. After graduating from high school, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Arizona, followed by a certificate in Special Education and a Master’s in Elementary Education. For the past eight years, Amy has been a beloved instructor at The Studio in Casa Grande, where she shares her love of dance with students of all
Outside of her professional life, Amy cherishes her role as a wife to her husband, Chris, and mom to their three children. When she’s not teaching or spending time with her family, Amy enjoys camping and soaking up the great
Amy decided to participate in this event after years of cheering on friends and colleagues. When her partner, Denee, needed a teammate, she knew the timing was perfect to support this wonderful cause. Though stepping on stage in front of peers feels daunting, Amy is excited to embrace the challenge for the Boys & Girls Clubs. Whether in the studio or on stage, her passion and dedication shine through!
Born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Bob Quinones left the land of deep-dish pizza for a life of sunshine and service in Arizona. While he proudly calls Casa Grande home, he admits that a trip back to Illinois is mostly about the food (with his family thrown in as a side benefit). Bob graduated from Lake Zurich High School and holds an undergrad degree in Exercise Physiology and Leisure Science from Adams State. Adding two graduate degrees from Northern Arizona University—both without ever staying more than two days on campus—Bob is well-prepared to keep life interesting.
In Casa Grande, Bob has spent the past 20 years shaping minds as an educator in roles ranging from teacher to Assistant Superintendent. He’s passionate about providing students with the same quality education that helped shape him and is dedicated to supporting opportunities for the next generation. His partner in education and life, wife Jessica—whom he affectionately calls “the home boss”—is the Principal at McCartney Ranch, and together, they have a daughter, Bryndle, who’s often the smartest one in the room. The Quinones household also includes dogs, cats, horses, goats, and a rotating cast of wandering creatures, all of which Bob calls “chores.”
A true community advocate, Bob serves in Kiwanis, works on the Cesar Chavez Scholarship Committee, and even championed Casa Grande’s first disc golf course. Off duty, he supports local businesses, attends community events, and will go anywhere—so long as he’s not driving (unless it’s on his motorcycle).
Bob agreed to dance at this event because, as he puts it, he’s “manmarried” to Matt Lemberg, whose youthful energy and pizza promises make it hard to say no. Not known for his dance moves, Bob’s just here for a good time, a slice, and a Dilly Bar. As for what he wanted to be when he grew up, he’s still figuring that out, but he’s enjoying every step of the ride!
Born and raised in Orem, Utah, Lilly Lawson is a senior at Vista Grande High School and a passionate dance teacher. She finds immense joy in sharing the beauty of dance, helping others discover its transformative power. For Lilly, dance is not just an art form but a gift, and she feels privileged to spread that love to her students and community.
An active volunteer, Lilly dedicates time to organizing charity events through her school and spends countless hours at her dance studio, assisting wherever needed. She jokes that she’s spent more time dancing or in a studio than anywhere else! Fun fact: all of Lilly’s siblings are dancers, and she once dreamed of performing on Broadway thanks to her love of musical theater.
Lilly is excited to participate in Dancing for Our Stars as a professional dancer for the first time. The Boys & Girls Clubs hold a special place in her heart, as she spent much of her childhood at her local club while her parents were busy working and studying. She’s thrilled to give back to an organization that gave her so much growing up. While stepping into a new role is a bit nerve-wracking, Lilly is ready to embrace the challenge and make a difference!
In addition to all of the Annual and Event Sponsors that we’ve highlighted in this program, we also wanted to publicly recognize the following local and national partners for their ongoing support of our organization!
Born in Douglas, Arizona, and raised in Eagar in the White Mountains, Jeremy Waters comes from a family rooted in Arizona since before it officially became a state. A graduate of Round Valley High School, Jeremy has since built a diverse career as a business owner and real estate professional. He owns Hunter Pest Control and STR Pool Guys but dedicates most of his time to residential real estate with The Maricopa Real Estate Co.
Jeremy finds joy in helping others—whether it’s assisting families in buying their dream home, eliminating pests, or maintaining sparkling pools. Jeremy is married to the incredible Julie Rae Applegath, whose determination inspires him daily. Together, they care for six dogs: two Rottweilers, three Chihuahuas, and one lovable “super mutt.”
Deeply involved in his community, Jeremy serves on the boards of the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce and the Maricopa Police Foundation. He also runs his own nonprofit, the Hunter Pest Control Charity Fund, which raises money for local families in need and food banks. Jeremy is passionate about improving quality of life for local families and supporting law enforcement.
A fun fact about Jeremy: he loves cooking and has a deep appreciation for symphony and film scores.
When asked to participate in Dancing for Our Stars, Jeremy was an immediate “yes!” As a fan of Dancing with the Stars, he’s excited to take on the challenge and compete for a great cause.
Jeremy’s childhood dream of becoming a fighter pilot was inspired by watching Top Gun weekly. Though his vision put that plan on hold, he now channels that drive into helping others. He also enjoys sharing spooky work stories, including a memorable encounter with a mysteriously playing 1930s radio—a tale he now laughs about but once left him running!
Mindy Sue Melillo, owner and instructor of The Dance Spot in San Tan Valley, is returning for her second season of Dancing for Our Stars. With 36 years of dance experience and 28 years of teaching, Mindy opened her studio in 2012, where she’s made a lasting impact on her community. She’s had the privilege of dancing with names like Weird Al Yankovic and Alice Cooper, performed in the Super Bowl halftime show, and even danced abroad in Japan.
Mindy is passionate about being a positive role model for her students, referring to them as her “adopted children.” She loves exposing kids to live performances and continues to support local events that give them opportunities to shine.
Mindy has two sons, Tanner and Joey, and is a proud dog mom to Waffles, her soul mate. Her biggest professional accomplishment? Surviving the challenges of COVID with her dance studio intact. When asked why she agreed to dance for this event, Mindy says it’s all about connecting with the community. She also hopes to add a Mirror Ball Trophy to her collection after winning the Judges’ Choice Award in her first two seasons. Rock star dreams are still alive—at least in her heart!
In addition to all of the Annual and Event Sponsors that we’ve highlighted in this program, we also wanted to publicly recognize the following local and national partners for their ongoing support of our organization!
Thank you to all volunteers for their time, talent and treasure!

state of Arizona allows taxpayers to claim credits for gifts through April 15, 2025 for the
Types of Credit
1. QCO- Qualifying Charitable Organization (Filing an Individual Return- $470 / Filing a Joint Return- $938) / BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF THE SUN CORRIDOR QUALIFY FOR THIS CREDIT!
2. Public School Credit
3. Private School Tax Credit.
4. QFCO- Qualifying Foster Care Organization Deduction vs. Credit
Deduction- A tax deduction lowers your taxable income and thus reduces your tax liability. Note- It is beneficial for most taxpayers to take the standard deduction (highlighted below in yellow).
Tax Credit- A tax credit (highlighted below in green) is an amount of money that taxpayers can subtract directly from taxes owed (or already paid) to the government.
How much can I give?
Starting in tax year 2024, individual filers can contribute up to $470, and married couples filing jointly can contribute up to $938
Can I claim multiple tax credits in a year? Or put another way, can I claim tax credits for gifts to the Boys & Girls Club and a school?
YES, taxpayers can claim multiple credits (in any combination) up to their Net Tax Liability (highlighted below in blue). However, taxpayers cannot claim credits for more than the limit in each individual credit (taxpayers cannot give $400 to their local elementary school and their local high school).
No Credit Credit
Can I still make a Tax Credit contribution if I’m already expecting a refund after completing my taxes? Or put another way, can I still claim a tax credit if I’ve already paid my taxes through paycheck withholdings all year?
YES, taxpayers can still make a Tax Credit contribution if they are already expecting a refund. Claiming tax credits will just increase the taxpayers’ refund by that amount.
