S m i t h R e s i d e n c e The Smith Residence in second semester showcased the basics of a simple house in SketchUp. The skills obtained from this project were how to create walls following AutoCAD plans, populating the interior with components, and learning the dierent ways to display oor plans, perspectives a n d elevations.


T h e F i n a l P r o b l e m Fourth semester challenged our skills with The Final Problem assignment. The challenge was to use a randomly drawn list of materials to create a wall construction. The Original list of components consists of: steel frame, concrete block, rigid insulation, polyethylene sheet, horizontal wood siding and kawneer 5525 series aluminum.


The knowledge and skills aquired throughout all semesters assisted in creating a SketchUp section perspective showcasing the wall construction details.

The Belvedere Community Centre was the first completed set of drawings during second semester. The application of AutoCAD created full floor plans, cross sections, elevations, window schedule, door schedule and stairs.

D e t a i l D ra w i n g s These details were done in third semester where we were introduced to variety of assemblies. The assignments were to produce section details, wall sections and plan details. With AutoCAD we drafted aluminum composite panels, glazed curtain walls, parapets, store front glazing systems, warm soffits, cold soffits and overhead doors.

The James House assignment in seond semester displayed a simple wood construction house designed in Revit. This model was a learning opportunity to create sheets featuring a detailed ďŹ&#x201A;oor plan, building sections, elevation, views. reďŹ&#x201A;ected ceiling plan, dimensions, annotations and callouts.

The Whole Life Medical Centre An AutoCAD ďŹ&#x201A;oor plan was used to develop a Revit model of the Medical Centre Assignment, third semester. This process developed the skills to create customized signage and views in which rendering can occur, as a result a 3D multiphased construction project was created.

Office Building Project The OďŹ&#x192;ce Building Project in fourth semester was a 3D model with a complete set of working drawings. These drawings include a site plan, ďŹ&#x201A;oor plans, cross sections, elevations, plan details, andschedules. DESIGN


House of a Self Portait The given task in semester two was to create a house inďŹ&#x201A;uenced by randomized picks which aďŹ&#x20AC;ected the overall design. The chosen picks were cold, urban, and ocean. A chosen concept word was adaptable to aid the house design process with ďŹ&#x201A;oor plans, exterior shape, and materials. This project nurtured the skills of hand rendering, hatching, coloring and measuring room size parameters.


AT B - K a s i a n Bank Design Third semester, ATB Bank and Kasian Architecture hosted a design competition. The project was to design a bank including a community space situated in between 101A Avenue and Jasper Avenue. The project was a learning experience for site analysis, a complete start to ďŹ nish design process, interpreting information about building codes and proper constructions on creating a building within the city.


The 3D model was created in SketchUp, rendered through iRender and rendered again in photoshop to add background entourage and more aesthetic visuals.
