For each sports program sign-up with a fee of $50 or higher, a surcharge will be added to the program fee, to be deposited into a dedicated fund for preservation and replacement of athletic facilities or maintenance
PRD understands and respects the diverse religious beliefs of our participants and their families We recognize there may be occasions when individuals are unable to attend a PRD program or class due to the observance of a religious holiday . To request a credit due to a non-attendance, please email prd@piedmont ca gov Request must be made in writing at least five (5) business days in advance of the first program meeting Requests received after this deadline may not be considered
All withdrawal requests must be submitted to PRD via email (prdrefunds@piedmont ca .gov) or phone (510) 420-3070 during office hours, Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm (excluding City holidays)
A request made:
■ 10 Business Days or More prior to the start of the program will receive a full refund or credit to account
■ Within 5–10 Business Days prior to the start of the program may receive a refund to the original form of payments, minus the convenience fee (3% for credit cards, 1% for echecks) or credit to account For an account credit, the amount credited will also be less the convenience fee . However it will not be charged again when the credit is used for a future registration of equal or lesser value
■ Less than 5 Business Days prior to the start of the program may be considered on a case by case basis and only permissible if the original program is over the minimum enrollment required Request must be approved by the instructor and PRD Staff If approved a refund or credit to account minus a 10% Class Withdrawal Fee

Cancellations may occur if a class minimum is not reached We reserve the right to either postpone the beginning of the program, or cancel the program and issue refunds to the original form of payment
Missed Classes will not receive a refund or credit
Class Transfers requests 10 business days or more prior to the start of the class are reviewed by PRD Staff and are only permissible if the original program is over the minimum enrollment Transfer must be to a program of equal or greater cost Transfer requests after PRD withdrawal window are not allowed unless approved by PRD staff .
Inclement Weather or Poor Air Quality may cause recreation activities to be canceled If rescheduling is not an option, a credit will be issued at the end of the program session

Get your friends, family, neighbors, classmates, or coworkers together to create one of the novelty obstacle holes for the Pop-Up Putt-Putt course! Prizes will be awarded for Best Overall, Most Creative, Most Clever and Best Use of Recycled Materials.
The course with entries will be set-up in the Community Hall parking lot the morning of April 27th.
The Piedmont Pop-Up Putt-Putt Course will be open for the community to play a round from 12–4 pm. After you play, green and picnic in beautiful Piedmont Park! Check out the Mobile Golf Simulator sponsored by ACE Golf!

The City of Piedmont Recreation Department will host the 4th annual Play Like a Girl+ Piedmont event on Sunday, May 4, 2025 Last year’s event encouraged approximately 800 girls+ to get involved in sports in a fun and supportive environment! More than 20 sports organizations from around the Bay Area will have hands-on activities for girls ages 2–18 to try From hockey to pickleball to rowing, there will truly be something for everyone! There will be live demonstrations, a sports raffle, an equipment swap hosted by Dress Best for Less and professional, Olympic and Paralympic athletes! JoNae is our first-ever female Athletic Director and graduate of Piedmont High School JoNae was a standout basketball player at PHS (2014), earning all-conference honors and four consecutive trips to the post-season
After high school, JoNae played collegiate basketball while obtaining an undergraduate degree, showcasing her skills and leadership on/ off the court She then pursued a Master’s Degree in England, continuing to excel in academics while playing professional basketball In addition to her playing career, JoNae has coached basketball at the college level and worked for National Academy of Athletics providing sports opportunities to the youth of the Bay Area With a passion for leadership and teamwork, JoNae continues to inspire others through her dedica tion to personal growth and community engage ment, but most importantly getting the younger generations involved in the athletic world

Play Like a Girl+ Piedmont is an inspiring event aimed at empowering girls+ to play sports . On Sunday, May 4th, athletes ages 2—18 learn to throw, kick, spike and jump like a girl+ There will be 20+ sports organizations showcasing their sports, live demonstrations as well as professional, Olympic and Paralympic athletes This large-scale event (~800 participants) simply wouldn’t be possible without the help of approximately 40 volunteers To learn more about the event, visit piedmont ca gov/playlikeagirl Contact Eva Phalen for additional volunteer information at ephalen@piedmont.ca.gov.

PRD events are a great opportunity for teens who need to fulfill their community service hour requirements for school as well as a fun way for parents to volunteer with their children

Join PRD’s Storytime Club program and become a mentor to young children (ages 4–5) . In partnership with PRD’s Beach and Havens Minimates and Pre-K programs, volunteer readers will encourage creativity, build intergenerational connections, and help foster language development in Piedmont’s youth
We are seeking dedicated, fun, and silly adults like you to join the Storytime Club and make a difference in the lives of children All volunteers must complete a background check No experience necessary, just a love for reading (wacky character voices are optional!) Teen Sidekicks are committed and enjoy working closely with neurodiverse students, befriending them, supporting them in activities and helping them successfully integrate into mainstream programs If you are interested in creating lasting memories and playing an integral role in supporting the growth and overall experience for a child with neurodiverse needs, contact Sidekicks Teen Sidekicks interview, attend a training and are fully supported by PRD staff Flexible scheduling available Community service hours are available upon request . The Piedmont Recreation Department is seeking volunteer coaches for our recreational basketball league Your involvement is essential in providing our teams with the guidance and support they need for a fulfilling and enjoyable experience in the league Volunteers like you play a vital role in making this program a success . Seeking teen volunteers to teach technology to seniors one Wednesday each month Spend a half-hour working hands-on with the Piedmont Seniors answering questions about their phones, apps, tablets or computers This rewarding experience aligns with PHS lunch break and is conveniently situated within walking distance of PHS at the Piedmont Community Hall
