Full Itinerary Highlights: Madikwe Game Reserve, Khama Rhino Sanctuary, Okavango Delta Countries Visited: South Africa & Botswana Day 1: Madikwe Game Reserve Departing early from Johannesburg, the road takes us north-east to the Madikwe Game Reserve, on the border with Botswana. The drive will take approximately 5 hours, and we will arrive in time for lunch. Madikwe is one of South Africa’s foremost Big 5 malaria-free reserves.

Day 2: South Africa – Botswana (Khama Rhino Sanctuary) We cross the border into Botswana today, and make our way north to the Khama Rhino Sanctuary. Today’s drive will take us approximately 7 hours.

The Khama Rhino Sanctuary is a community based project, established in 1992, to assist in protecting the vulnerable rhinoceros. We will begin our Delta experience with a scenic flight out to Chief’s Island, where we will be staying at Gunn’s Camp for 2 nights.
