The drive will take approximately 5 hours, and we will arrive in time for lunch. Madikwe is one of South Africa’s foremost Big 5 malaria-free reserves.

Day 2: South Africa – Botswana (Khama Rhino Sanctuary) We cross the border into Botswana today, and make our way north to the Khama Rhino Sanctuary. Today’s drive will take us approximately 7 hours.

The Khama Rhino Sanctuary is a community based project, established in 1992, to assist in protecting the vulnerable rhinoceros. Day 2: Elephant Sands

Departing early morning from Johannesburg and Pretoria, the road takes us through the Waterburg towards the border of Botswana, and then on to the Khama Rhino Sanctuary. Late afternoon you will go on a game drive in the sanctuary with a local guide.

Today we head further north through Botswana, arriving at Elephant Sands in the afternoon. It is a beautiful spot, a real oasis, and elephants often come to drink at the waterhole just below the bar area.

Day 2: Kasane This morning you will go out on an early morning open vehicle game drive with an experienced local guide before we pack up and continue on our journey. Heading further north still, through the Kasane forest, there is a good chance that we will see herds of elephants, rare antelope and possibly even lion, hyena and wild dog on our drive today. We will arrive in Kasane early afternoon, where we will be staying on the shores of the Chobe River at Chobe Safari Lodge, at the gateway to the Chobe National Park. Here you can relax at the swimming pool overlooking the river, where you stand a good chance of seeing animals like elephant, buffalo and hippo, as well as a large variety of bird species. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner Accommodation: Chobe Safari Lodge – www.chobesafarilodge.com Days 4, 5: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) After breakfast a short drive takes us across the border and on to the adventure capital of the world, Victoria Falls, which is considered to be one of the safest tourist destinations in southern Africa. On arrival your guide will take you to be briefed on all the optional activities available in the area, and will assist you with the booking of your activities. This afternoon you will be taken on a guided tour of one of the seven natural wonders of the world - the magnificent Victoria Falls. The waterfall is 1700 meters (1.1 mile) wide, of which 1300 meters is on the Zimbabwean side, including the main falls.

Continue‌ Later on we will enjoy a sunset dinner cruise on the 4th largest river in Africa (the Zambezi River), which has national parks on both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides of the river. Day 2: Kruger National Park (South Africa)

Departing early we make our way east towards the Kruger National Park, stopping en route for breakfast (own cost). We will then make our way to the Panoramic Route, stopping at God’s Window, and the world’s 3rd largest Canyon, Blyde River Canyon. From here we will make our way down to our overnight stop, the Kruger Cultural Village, just 15km from the main gate of the Kruger National Park. Tonight we will enjoy some dancing and a traditional dinner around the camp fire.

Today starts off with a 1 hour tour of the village, after which we will enjoy breakfast in the village’s restaurant. Leaving the village we will make our way to the Kruger National Park. Once at the gates of the Kruger we will be on the lookout for wildlife en route to our campsite. After setting up camp you will have a chance to relax for a couple of hours before heading out on an evening sunset drive with your experienced Kruger guide. This drive lasts between 3 and 3.5 hours, which gives you the opportunity to see plenty of wildlife. On your return your guide will have dinner ready for you.

There is an option this morning to do a 2 to 3 hour walking safari with an experienced Kruger National Park guide who will be able to point out the finer details of the local flora and fauna in detail (own cost). The Kruger National Park is home to 147 mammal (including the Big 5), 114 reptile, & 502 bird species. Once inside the Kruger Park we will be on the lookout for wildlife en route to our camp. After settling in to your chalet you will have a chance to relax for a couple of hours before heading out on an evening sunset drive with your experienced Kruger National Park guide. This drive lasts between 3 and 3.5 hours, which gives you the opportunity to see plenty of wildlife. This is a great opportunity to see nocturnal animals not normally seen during the day game drives. On your return your guide will have dinner ready for you.

Day 4: Bilene After an early morning swim in the clear waters of the inland lake that stretches for 27 kilometres, breakfast is served, after which you can relax on the beach by our lodge. Your guide will organise a boat trip for you to the beaches of the Indian Ocean, and your local guide will then take you for a walk along the beach where you may have the opportunity to observe the Hawksbill and Green Turtles, which make the Bilene area their home all year round. The rest of the day can be spent relaxing, swimming, and watching the local fisherman bringing in their catch of the day. Or perhaps you might like to take a walk through town and visit the local market with its assortment of curios. The warm tropical waters of Barra attract many species of fish and other sea dwelling creatures such as Green and Leatherback Turtles, Manta Rays and the Whale Shark, the majestic giant of the sea. Spend your days lazing in the sun, swimming, snorkelling, playing beach volleyball, and walking down to the beach bar for sundowners. If you would like to learn how to surf, you will have the opportunity to take some classes. The diving here is world-class; if you don’t already dive, why not try a resort course whilst you are here? Day 2: Kruger National Park

Departing early we make our way east towards the Kruger National Park. We will stop en route for breakfast (own cost), and then make our way to the Panoramic Route. We will stop at God’s Window and the world’s 3rd largest canyon, Blyde River Canyon. From here we will head down to the traditional Kruger Cultural Village, where we will spend the night in the locals’ traditional clay huts. We will be entertained by young men with their traditional dancing, and will also enjoy a traditional meal around the campfire.

A short drive takes us to the gate of the Kruger National Park for our wildlife experience. After driving to our camp we will settle down for the day and enjoy a hearty lunch. Our camp is in the heart of the park, and is one of the best. The Kruger National Park is home to 502 bird, 114 reptile and 147 mammal species (including the Big 5 elephant, lion, buffalo, rhino and leopard). The afternoon will be spent on a game drive, and then at sunset you will be transferred onto a 4x4 game viewing vehicle for your evening drive. This is time to spot the nocturnal animals of this great park. Dinner will be served on your return.

Day 4: Massingir to Tofo Beach (Inhambane Province)

This morning starts off with a short game drive, before making our way north and crossing into Mozambique, and heading to the Massingir Dam where we settle down for the night. The view of the dam is breathtaking. The night is spent around the campfire chatting about the days before and the days to come. Your guide will explain the history of this awesome country (Mozambique).

Today we leave the Limpopo Park and head north towards the beaches of Mozambique. Driving along the coast line through the coconut plantations we arrive in Inhambane for lunch and a bit of last minute shopping before making our way to Tofo. This is where we start our diving section of the tour. The afternoon will be spent organizing our diving for the next 3 days.

Days 9, 10, 11: Zavora Beach (Diving)

These 3 days are for you to enjoy your diving in Zavora. The Dive School is on the beach so you can enjoy the view of the ocean from the school (breakfasts and lunches are served in their restaurant whilst we are here). Dives: 2 per day (total 6)

Leaving the beach behind us we travel south to Bilene and the inland lake of this small Mozambique town, arriving early afternoon. After settling in, you can relax on the beach or go for a walk along the 27km long lake. On day 13 your guide will organize you a boat trip across the inland lake to the beaches of the Indian Ocean, after which your local guide will then take you for a walk along the beach to one of the spots where you might be lucky enough to observe the Hawksbill and Green Turtles which make the Bilene area their home. Dinner is enjoyed at the on-site restaurant. For those keen divers amongst you, an optional extra dive can be arranged here.

We enter the park at the most southern gate and do a slow game drive to our overnight camp at Manyane. Once booked in we have time to relax for a while before going on a late afternoon game drive. The days here are spent organising swimming trips, lazing in the sun, swimming in the tropical sea, playing beach volleyball and walking down to the beach bar for sun-downers. The small town of Tofo also has its own small curio and food market and one or two restaurants where they serve great seafood and other local dishes typical of Mozambique. Your guide will organise an Ocean Safari for you, which is included in the tour. If you would like to learn how to surf, you will have the opportunity to take some classes.

After time spent on the pristine beaches, our journey takes us back to South Africa, bypassing Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique. Once across the border, it is just a short drive to Marloth Park, where we will spend the night. Marloth Park is a wildlife sanctuary close to the Kruger National Park, where you are very likely to see animals such as warthog and impala in the streets and gardens.
