ILOILO CITY, Oct. 10 (PIA6) -- Iloilo City remains as a center for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) expansion despite a slowdown in Metro Manila, a press release from the City Information Office said. The rising demand for office space in the city is mainly driven by the BPO Industry, according to the second quarter 2017 report of the Colliers International, a Canadian-based global commercial real estate services firm. “The city has remained in the radar of foreign BPO investors,” the Colliers report said. It has noticed that buildings completed since 2016 are almost fully leased. The report also stated that the number of educational institutions has also made Iloilo the center for learning in

the Visayas and consequently a viable area for companies to locate in. Colliers also said that the Iloilo office market has the foundations in place to cater to the growing BPO Industry because it has the necessary elements which make it ripe for growth. This growth is indicated by reliable labor pool from the major colleges and universities; supportive local government; and, a private sector that is willing to invest. Colliers believed that demand for BPO spaces will likely continue given the aggressive promotion being undertaken by the local government. (JCM/ESS/PIA-Iloilo)
