At All Saints’, families join a community committed to helping children grow into capable, confident, and compassionate learners. Our faculty are experts in how children learn and develop, guiding students as they stretch toward new goals and discover what they can achieve.
Connection shows up in the everyday life of the School—from chapel that centers our shared values, to the natural way older students look out for younger ones and model leadership through friendship and by example. These moments build character and confidence over time, preparing students not only for their next school, but for the kind of lives they will lead.

The mission of All Saints’ Episcopal Day School is to educate children in the light of God—mind, body, and soul—in a nurturing community. We combine academic excellence with spiritual and moral formation, preparing our students to lead fruitful lives and serve a world in need.

Since 1963, All Saints’ has continually evolved to meet the needs of today’s learners, while remaining firmly grounded in our mission and core tenets of academic excellence, community, and character cultivation. Here, students experience these values in action, through expert teaching, purposeful relationships, and a learning environment designed to help them become self-aware learners who know who they are and what they have to contribute.
As an Episcopal school, we are rooted in an ethos that values both faith and inquiry. We model respect for every individual and create space for perspectives to be seen and heard. Inclusivity is foundational here—students learn to practice empathy, listen generously, and engage in civil discourse with curiosity and integrity.
As an independent school, All Saints’ is guided by mission rather than mandates. Our faculty have the freedom to design learning experiences that respond to students’ needs, rather than a onesize-fits-all curriculum. We are governed by a board of trustees and supported through tuition and philanthropy, allowing us to reinvest directly into program, people, and student experience.
Our 15-acre campus feels like a green oasis in the heart of North Central Phoenix, with green spaces, shaded walkways, and mature trees that create a calm, inviting environment for learning. The design of our campus allows students to move fluidly between indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the day: classrooms open onto terraces for small group work, outdoor pavilions double as gathering spaces, and common areas invite collaboration, community-building, and reflection. The environment itself becomes part of the learning experience.
We are proud to be Arizona’s only NAIS Episcopal PK–8 member school, and we hold accreditations through ISAS and SAES, affirming our commitment to the highest standards of independent school education.

At All Saints’, our teachers are experts in how children learn and grow. They combine strong pedagogy with deep knowledge of child development, guiding students academically while also nurturing confidence, character, and independence.
Because teachers know their students well—how they think, what motivates them, and where they are ready to stretch—they are able to personalize learning in meaningful ways. Instruction is responsive rather than one-size-fits-all, allowing students to be both supported and appropriately challenged.
This close partnership between teachers, students, and families is central to the All Saints’ experience and one of the defining strengths of our school community.

All Saints’ partners closely with families to help each student find the high school where they will thrive—academically, socially, and personally. Because we know our students so well, we understand their strengths, motivations, learning style, and goals, and are able to guide them toward environments where they will be both successful and deeply engaged.
Our graduates matriculate to a wide range of outstanding next schools, including top local independent schools such as Phoenix Country Day School, Brophy College Preparatory, and Xavier College Preparatory, as well as highly selective boarding schools across the country. A significant number are accepted into advanced or honors-level programs at these schools—including Great Books, SHEP, and accelerated academic tracks, typically up to 70% of our students in a given year.
During their eighth-grade year, students take Ready to Launch, a signature course designed specifically to prepare them for what comes next. The program builds executive functioning skills, independence, self-advocacy, and comfort navigating the high school admissions process. By the time they graduate, All Saints’ students don’t just qualify for strong schools, they arrive ready to contribute, lead, and excel from day one.

Service Learning is woven into the mission of All Saints’ and reflects our Episcopal commitment to inclusivity, compassion, and responsibility to others. Students actively engage in service as part of their learning, developing both awareness and agency as they encounter real needs within the broader community.
Through authentic partnerships with local organizations, students gain a deeper understanding of how communities function, who they serve, and why service matters. These experiences cultivate empathy, broaden perspective, and help students recognize their capacity to make meaningful contributions.
At All Saints’, service is not a single project or event, but a mindset students carry with them: noticing where there is need, understanding the “why” behind it, and responding with insight, compassion, and leadership.

Partnership with families is a defining strength of the All Saints’ experience. We view parents as collaborators in their child’s learning journey, working together through open communication, shared values, and mutual trust.
Teachers and families stay closely connected through ongoing dialogue, conferences, and community events, ensuring students are supported academically, socially, and emotionally. This partnership allows us to truly know each child and to help them grow with confidence and purpose.
At All Saints’, parents are not observers of school life, they are active participants in it, contributing to the spirit of community that surrounds and sustains our students.

We believe students learn best when teaching is grounded in both research and deep understanding of child development. Our Learning Principles reflect the practices that make learning at All Saints’ meaningful, lasting, and developmentally aligned. They are not a checklist, but a flexible framework that guides teachers as they design experiences that build curiosity, understanding, and enduring skills students carry with them long after they leave our campus.
• Learning is personal
• Learning is purposeful and intentional
• Learning is social
• Learning is enhanced and influenced by the environment
• Learning is deepened through inquiry, exploration, and provocation

Students engage with both the space and the learning process, making the environment an active part of how they think, create, and explore. Our campus is intentionally designed to support inquiry with flexible indoor and outdoor spaces that invite collaboration, imagination, and intellectual risk-taking. This fluid movement between classrooms, patios, and open-air learning areas is a defining feature of the All Saints’ experience.

In lower school, the journey begins. Alongside reading, writing, and math, we begin cultivating a growth mindset and fostering process-oriented and relationship skills like perseverance, problem-solving, resilience, and critical thinking.
Faculty specialists in music, art, theatre, science, technology, library, Spanish, life skills, and religion work with classroom teachers to integrate their disciplines with other core academic subjects, further enhancing students’ learning experiences.

Middle school is all about growth—academically, socially, and emotionally. Here, our students discover their individual strengths. A robust academic program is further enhanced with creative arts, athletics, and clubs offering ample opportunities for our students to take on leadership roles and discover their voice.
All middle school students start and end their day with their advisory group. WIN (What I Need) time during advisory twice a week allows students to learn to manage their workload, engage in proactive discussions with teachers, and focus on organization. Advisory and WIN time help students feel settled, in control, and each models their high school experience.

1.
Established in 1963, All Saints’ Episcopal Day School is an independent Pre-K through eighth grade school centered on educating children— mind, body, and soul—in a nurturing community.
2. What are the students like?
All Saints’ students are independent, collaborative, and creative thinkers. Confident speakers. Lifelong learners. They never back down from a challenge. They respect traditions and capitalize on opportunities to become changemakers. Most of all, they are kind, inspired, and constantly seeking ways to contribute to our dynamic and ever-changing world.
3. What is All Saints’ greatest strength?
We focus every space and every aspect of our program on the individual child: the close relationships with members of our gifted and caring faculty, the cultivation of passion and purpose in studies, and the faculty’s deep understanding of the child’s social-emotional development.
4. How has All Saints’ changed over the years?
All Saints’ deep-seated values have remained steadfast. We see inclusivity and belonging as vital components of our mission and the cornerstone of an Episcopal education. Over the last 15 years, All Saints’ has become a much more diverse and inclusive community through our commitment to providing access to our exceptional education through our Indexed Tuition program, Corporate Scholar program, and partnerships with organizations like The Challenge Foundation.
Dr. Emma Whitman leads All Saints’ with the partnership of a highly qualified team of administrators, faculty, and staff. Having begun her career teaching in public and private schools in New York City, she later transitioned into administration and earned a Ph.D. in Child Development with a focus on Education. Dr. Whitman’s qualities reach far beyond her experience and her Episcopal values echo our School’s fundamental beliefs and practices. She shares an understanding and passion for educating children from “head to soul.”

6. What are the teachers like?
Inspiring. Nurturing. Invested. Experienced. Our teachers are simply top-notch. Every member of our faculty is committed to knowing, reaching, and supporting our students as they grow and find success.
7. How is All Saints’ different from other schools?
The community feel at All Saints’ is unmatched among other schools around the Valley. The connections made at All Saints’ last a lifetime. Anyone who sets foot on campus can sense the enthusiasm of students and faculty and the extraordinary support surrounding our exceptional school.
8. If I’m not Episcopalian, will I fit in?
All faiths are welcome and celebrated at All Saints’. Inspired by our Episcopal ethos, we encourage students to explore their spirituality through religion classes and bi-weekly chapel. All-school chapel on Tuesday mornings brings the entire school together and provides an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and come together as a community.
9. Can my family afford All Saints’?
The All Saints’ Board of Trustees is committed to creating a school community that is truly inclusive, diverse, and accessible to a wide range of families. To help ensure that we fully embrace this pledge, we have adopted an Indexed Tuition model, which allows families to apply for a scaled tuition rate based on their unique circumstances and financial resources. We are happy to help guide families in the Indexed Tuition process. Please reach out to us for more information.
10. Is All Saints’ right for my family?
We can’t answer this one, but you can. Visit campus for a tour or Open House event. Talk to our teachers, students, and families. While this viewbook can give a sense of what life is like at All Saints’, there’s no better way to experience our School than in person.
