NATIONAL PRESIDENT

Greetings Brothers and Friends!
I am honored to serve as your National President during this important time. We have rounded the corner on the recent pandemic and have entered a new age of self-reflection and redefining fraternity. While the world is everchanging, I know our brand of brotherhood, service, and democracy continues to stand the test of time.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing Executive Director, Tom Murphy Mu Alpha ’94 who has done a tremendous job these last sixteen years bringing stability and growth to our brotherhood. The successes we have had is due to his tireless efforts and commitment. I am proud to call Tom a close friend and mentor and wish him the best in his next chapter.
Regarding the National Council, we continue to focus our on strategic priorities and planning for the future. The undergraduate experience continues to be our primary importance, but we have a renewed energy in engaging alumni that I hope you will see moving forward.
As we approach Thanksgiving, I reflect on the words of John D. Rockefeller, to think of giving “not as a duty, but as a privilege”. While I served as National Treasurer two years ago, I led a committee of brothers and interfraternal friends in creating a new Life Loyal giving program to help sustain our brotherhood and fund the important work we are doing for our undergraduates. The launch of this program occurred one week before the world would unknowingly shut down. As an organization that relies on undergraduate membership recruitment, it could not have been timelier. The pandemic proved that programs like Life Loyal were critical to ensuring the continued operation of our organization, even in times of challenge.
Giving, not as a right, but as a privilege can be seen in these following pages through the work and attitudes of our many members who have contributed. This Thanksgiving, I ask that you join the generations of Phi Mu Deltas who have continued to invest in our brotherhood beyond their undergraduate experience and join Life Loyal. While we celebrate within the pages that follow, we must also attack the future with a renewed energy and ensure that we have the resources to continue to provide the premier fraternal experience that I know we do.
