Merchant ID: Everything you need to know about (MID)

What is a Merchant ID (MID)? When a business opens a merchant account with a payment gateway, the acquiring bank assigns it a merchant ID, which is a one-of-a-kind identifier. A corporation's MID number is unique to it and is not related to any other information about it.

A merchant identification number (MID), which is a unique identifier, will be provided by your payment processing company. It allows you to see where your credit card payments are going and where they are coming from.

Why is it necessary for a business to have a MID? Your MID ensures that the transaction is completed appropriately and that the funds are received in your bank account.
