Artist Exhibition Artist: Matthew O’Reilly Sept. 29 - Nov. 2, 2022 This exhibition presents a dialogue between ‘our’-’selves’, asking: Is each person a collection of competing selves that want and need different things? RISE Emerging Artist Matthew O’Reilly applies this psycho-sociological framework in the making of his work, wherein he is always considering the collection of evolving identities within himself. Matthew aims to visualize this tension between the individual and the collective, leaning on the interaction of levity and the grotesque to push boundaries and invite inquisition.

Lynn Martel - Stories of Ice: Adventure, Commerce and Creativity on Canada’s Glaciers

artsPlaceCanmore.com20 Fall 2022

Thu. Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Canada has more glacier ice than anywhere on Earth except Greenland and Antarctica. Thousands of those glaciers are found right in the Canadian Rockies, and in British Columbia’s mountain ranges. These glaciers are dynamic, intriguing, sometimes dangerous places where people pursue adventures, run businesses, do scientific research and create art, all year round. About Lynn Martel Lynn Martel has written about the people and places of western Canada’s mountain community for more than 25 years. Her work has appeared in Alberta Views , explore , Gripped and Canadian Geographic magazines, and in 10 Summit Series biographical booklets. An energetic, popular presenter, she was a featured guest of the 2020 Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival. byBarvinokLiannaMakuch A PYRETIC PRODUCTIONS PRESENTATION
